Why does the book close and open everytime I type? It's annoying! It's a (hopefully) temporary way to refresh the screen to show what you typed so far. I tried to find alternate better ways to do it but couldn't find anything at all and this was the best I could do, if you know a better way to refresh the book/screen so letters are shown let me know!
I can't type in the book! The player journal can be written only when it exists in a world space (on a table for instance), if it's kept in your invenctory you can only read it but not write it.
Well... wrong! Well, kinda anyway, and it's an old mod... It could be just what I'm looking for...but the 135 characters and the open close bug/feature worries me a bit.
I want to write Smithing recipes in a journal in game (This game character only creates from patterns and written recipes) so really a self written in game book would be brilliant for me.
I'll give it a try and return with my assessment, "if you break my game I will destroy you"... nah not really, it will be my fault and I don't care really, I can always start again!
This is really late and no one is probably going to read this but there is a MASSIVE glitch involving the mod spawning about 70+ unnamed Npcs in solitude, where the wedding for the dark brotherhood quest is supposed to take place. Performance kept dropping every single time I entered solitude and couldn't figure it out until I finally progressed through the dark brotherhood storyline and went to the place.Hilighting them in the console view lists them as being under Journal.bsa
everything with this mod seems Odd *yes even the comment section* im just sticking with take notes ... may not be able to sell it but still the refresh is to much to bare and he cant even keep the comments working correctly xD
Like Pleasdontshoot said I think it would be possible to fix the issue of having to open and close the book by making a menu appear asking the player to either read or write the book reading would open the book normally and writing would open up a prompt similar to the one where you write your name and then when the player hits a button to say he's done writing you could update the book so it would contain what the player just wrote. An issue that might pop up is that you might loose where the cursor (where the player last wrote something to start writing right after he left of) you could fix it by adding the info into the save file
could it be possible to use the character naming script to show what your typing and hit enter or what ever to set the text to do one refresh with the whole page instead of letter by letter?

Only if you write tales about pancakes.

Is it compatible with writing tales about Waffles ?
