First off, I've been on vacation for a while. I'm back now.
@Ryan, just open up the console and type help "demon bow" 0 and you should get the bow in the results.
@Chaos, the bow is suppose to be purple but if something is strange then you may have to copy the extra texture files from the Daedric bow into the folder for the demon bow. I already corrected this, as well as a couple other issues, I just have to update the file.
I still need some help with mesh editing/creation, but I will update what I have later today.
Just so you know, I downloaded the file on the server now, and the texture files for the bow are still in a folder marked daedric, and I was having the texture issues. Repacked the .zip with a copy of the folder renamed to demon, and testing now.
Update: Failed. Bow is still flat purple, rather than the purple you appear to have intended in your screenshot. Has the glow on it, though. What gives, huh?
I'm not sure on that. I re-uploaded the file with the additional texture files needed for the texture to work properly. Have you tried re-downloading? If that doesn't work, I'll try to get to that at some point. I have another mod in the works at the moment. Could you send me a screenshot of what your bow looks like so I can get an idea of what went wrong? My email is [email protected]
I have decided to put the unique meshes on hold for the time being, until I figure out how all of that works. I''ll be starting a new mod pretty soon and plan to post a topic on it in Mod Talk once I begin working on it.
In case you haven't heard, the update is out! I revamped a lot of the creation process, more like simplified it. I did use some files from Dawnguard, so it's legitimately required now. Couldn't figure out why it was before. Everything you need is in the list at any blacksmith forge/anvil.
I think this last part is going to become a permanent part of my posts, but if you are knowledgeable in mesh creation, or know someone who is please contact me via PM. I want to further uniqeify the weapons and armor in this mod.
Huh. Okay, my bad. Not from this mod. I was looking at the "Oblivion Sword", which apparently is from a mod called Dark Tower that I just kind of installed and didn't start with yet. Installed it about the same time as this one, and since this one adds to Daedric crafting, my mind just jumped to conclusion.
Perhaps the text between the quotes was incorrect? If the quoted text does not match anything then it will not return any hits. Sometimes dropping the number value at the end will allow you to pick up instances where the quoted text is used i.e. dialog, cells, variables, etc...
To add on to this, the way the 'help' command works in the console is basically a search function. Rather than inputting a search que using the ID names, you input the name you actually see in game. The number at the end just tells the search que which section to look under. 0 is the 'all' option. Everything within the quotes is the name of whatever you are looking for, EXACTLY as seen in the game. Thus, spaces are necessary. Also, you can search by partial names (ie. "Daedric" rather than "Daedric Boots"), but you do run the risk of your results list being too long.
You can't do a search for anything with a space in it in the console. However, doing a search for "Demon" would catch the bow somewhere. You may need to scroll up on the list (scroll console readout with the page up and page down keys).
Actually, you can search for phrases with a space in them using the console reaper67 gave the correct information.
I just had a thought that I wanted to run past you guys. What if I converted the Demon Bow (and the other Demon equipment to follow) from a unique material, to a simple upgrade from Daedric equipment? I'm thinking a smithing recipe that uses the base Daedric material and filled black soul gems. I think it will be far more functional than what I'm currently working with. Also, I know my custom textures are amazing, but I want to take it a step further into custom meshes. The only thing is, I need some help. I have posted about my issues with this before, but if you like this mod and want to see it grow, then PM me with any information you have on custom mesh creation. Thank you.
Using normal materials for Daedric gear makes sense, and filled soul gems does help balance it out. Sounds like a good idea. I'm playing with your mod installed, but I haven't actually gotten a bow yet, as I haven't reached that level of smithing yet. (Even if I ultimately add it through the console, I want to feel like I could have made it myself.)
Hi, so i installed this mod but i can't find anything in the High Hrothgar courtyard. anyway... i want to see this bow, but i don't know how to use the console. can you tell me how to use the console to get the bow?
