Thanks, I was looking for reduction of the cool down on shouts without a total removal or having to bounce in and out of CC.
I play a Nord Sword and board char and only lvl mage skills to get the perks.

To anyone that feels this is a cheat, that is your opinion and you are entitled to have one, but you are also free to not use the mod

I'll try out this mod. I remember when Skyrim was still in the works, and Bethesda said that non-dragonborns could learn how to use shouts, but it would take them a lot longer to learn such magic, and that no one would be able to use this ability to the extent of Dragonborns. It was disappointing to see Bethesda not implement this well in the completed Skyrim. The Dragonborn's shouts were no different in power compared to the common draugrs, dragons, and Greybeards.

According to Bethesda, the Dragonborn's shouts were suppose to be more effective and powerful compared to the common user. This was suppose to set the Dragonborn apart from others. It annoyed me that mid to high leveled draugrs, all dragons, and the Greybeards can shout far more often than the Dragonborn.

The vanilla cooldowns for the Dragonborn's shouts made them almost useless compared to standard melee, archery, and magic combat.

A request: can you work with the author for Thunderchild Epic Shouts, and make your mod compatible with his? His mod adds new shouts to the game, and your mod only affects vanilla shouts...

i turned this on and try'd to play through skuldofon ,it's almost impossible to play when you 12 drauger overlords all shouting at you with no cool down . great idea if it didn't effect every npc in the game ,they aren't Dragon born you are ,the only other person in the game who should be able to shout like you is Miraak .

It shouldn't affect draugr at all. Draugr and dragons use completely different shouts from the player.

I downloaded the Dawnguard file. Dawnguard is the only DLC I have.

It should not matter, unless you have other mods that affect shout cooldowns. If you do have other mods that affect shout cooldowns, then load mine after those; otherwise, it does not matter.

StarScribe, yup, I'm aware of both the console command and the other mods. I use Dragonborn Ascendant myself. This is just an alternative that makes the shout cooldowns more similar to the cooldowns of dragons and Greybeards as listed in the Creation Kit, instead of a blanket reduced percentage.

Rondivu - all good suggestions, however, some of them are beyond what I'm willing to do. As for magicka, that wouldn't make the shouts any different from spells. Stamina would be a different spin, but would punish mages. No, what makes shouts unique is that any build can use them, regardless of skills or stats. Also, why wouldn't anyone use SKSE?

kareem3 - Isrophel pretty much hits it on the money. In the Creation Kit, the shouts that Greybeards and dragons have much shorter cooldowns.

Gatorz08 - LOL That sounds like a pretty awesome playthrough! What skill build did you use?

Isrophel - Thanks for the support, man. I also think this is better than zero cooldown, hence why I didn't just use the shoutrecoverymult command.

xvibex - LOL That's a bug I have occasionally with bandits in steel plate armor.

BloodReyvyn - You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it. A slider or set of sliders would indeed be neat, but is beyond my ability. In the meantime I suppose you can just use the console command.

The higher level draugr shout more than you do. lol.

Thanks for making this. Would be awesome to have an in-game menu to alter the shout cooldowns yourself. Even if it were just a single slider with a percentage.

You shout so well you took that guy's head clean off his shoulders. Not sure I can handle that much power.

Some may say, it's very unbalanced to be able to kill enemy's with a bunch of powerful shouts. To those people, I say "How is it any different than being able to kill a nest of bandits with one spell or a few swings of a strong mace?". If anything, it's still weaker than magic because of the cooldown. Most spells only take 1-2 seconds to charge, while most of your damaging shouts take 5. That's about the same as a Master destruction spell, and it doesn't even match the damage of one. Although @kareem3 has a valid argument, to an extent. He is right in the sense of the Human body having limitations. Limits that the Graybeards are lacking; even being that they are human. True, they trained their bodies their entire lives to withstand the power of the voice. But they are human, no? Certainly a Dragon in the body of a human could condition themselves to or past the point of the Graybeards as quickly as they learn the Dragon language? I digress. This mod seems like a great idea, better than removing the cool-down all together.

Where was this 3 months ago!!!!! I just finished a play through where I refused to use any magic and only used shouts. Nice addition.
