Liking the looks of these shields. Just as I was focusing on upgrading the overall looks of cities, with mods like JK's, Designs of the Nords and Signs of Skyrim, now the guards can looks new, as well. Even better that they're based off DotN, too.
Well that's the point of it. It's meant to more complement "Design of the Nords Banners" by Keb. His banners are all fresh and brand new looking. I wanted these shields to be the same way.
Hi! I featured this mod briefly on my YouTube video, so feel free to put it on the mod page if you like. My favorite designs were the Winterhold and Solitude crests, but I thought some of the others, such as Whiterun and Markarth looked a bit too colourful and bright, but if they were adjusted slightly they would be perfect! Good job!
Yeah. Thanks for the critquing. I uploaded a set of Whiterun and Markarth Alternatives. White run still mostly the same, just using the older Yellow background, Design mostly left the same. And markarth, I dug out another image that Keb created and actually is in use with his main "Design of the Nords" mod and added it. If people like the new versions I'll re-up the mod with the new ones. Otherwise I'll just leave them in an alternative pack to download.
Seems a bit dubious that you added them without his explicit consent... Did you literally copy them off his deviantart page and put them on the shields? Because that would be pretty bad...
DId you not read the description? I did not copy them from his deviant art page. They are what HE TOOK from DeviantArt. All I did was use the PSD file he had released on his nexus page to create these.
I think this is probably in your favour here. KEBW1144 took them from DeviantArt himself, so he doesn't own the rights to any of the artwork used. Other than the title, there's nothing here that really qualifies as his work. Not to dismiss his excellent mod, of course.
A bit of clarification some of the designs are mine, and some are partially mine, and others are edited brushes I had in my collection. I uploaded my psd files, with all my layers unmerged so anyone could use them. I credited deviantart mainly because I love using their brushes for art deco, which is tedious to create. Anywho I don't play skyrim that much anymore, but happy to see someone using all those hours I spent painting some of the designs. On my mod I did state anyone is welcome to use them however they wish as long as they are honest about what is theirs. So please mod away to your hearts content!
