Would this lower AI bow damage output at all?

Anyways I'm definitely using this.. The sneak was noticeable right away and I like having the points making a noticeable difference.

Perhaps you can nerf light armor, heavy armor, and blocking to 12% per level? That way getting the other perks is actually useful....

    Anyways, great mod.

I would suggest using this with ACE Combat mod for armor and combat difficulty.

No it won't lower AI bow damage with the exception of bowmen and women with the perks (some have them).

This mod is meant to go with ACE - I just don't use the ACE Bow mod because it replaces all the bows with light or long bows. This means that all bows added by mods are relegated to (i think) longbows which isn't always optimal. Personally, I prefer something that doesn't screw with the equipment as much - all the rest of ACE I already use.

Conjuration is hugely OP so I made changes there too - ACE doesn't really cover magic very much.

The reason I suggest HA/LA/Blocking nerfs is because.. there's simply little reason in actually investing in the points on my character, and I feel like if they were nerfed it would put more emphasis on that part of the game ~ investing points. Like, I have 8 unused points because:

I legendary'd smithing after crafting a fairly good set of armor, getting all the points back
Heavy armor perks aren't worth investing in mostly.. like it would take me 2 points to get 25% full set bonus or I could just dump 1 point and get 20% or level it more and those 2 points would get me 40%.......
Light armor - similar deal if I had made a light armor character
Blocking, 25% is huge reduction for 1 point ~ plus blocking already negates a lot of damage no real need to invest in the tree other than for blocking arrows, or if you really feel like disarming everyone and breaking the game lol.. not sure what can be done about that. Is there any way could lower the chance to disarm to something more reasonable like 1/200?

Anything to make those super OP skills less powerful..

I'll take a look at ACE but I generally don't like to change the skill tree too much. These really fit with balance though imo (your changes) and I really like what they do (concerning sneaking, invisibility and stealth killing).

Well ace is pretty unobtrusive and gives a good nerf to things like enchanting and armour skills. It doesn't really cover magic as much but has some good changes there in the way of casting stances.

The smithing tree is really nice in ACE too, much more difficult to create legendary which is nice.

It also has a timed blocking mechanic I believe, so that should also be covered for you. I'd really suggest it, it's a great mod.

I already use Deadly Combat instead.. also I've now changed my damage dealt/damage income numbers to be a lot more lethal (taking twice as much damage from enemies than legendary) because.. I'm trying to balance out other overpowered things my modded game has to offer. But honestly if I really wanted to, I think the blocking perk that allows you to disarm people can pretty much destroy the entire non-dragon portion of the game...... All you have to do is shield bash and pick their weapon up. Zzz.. it's worse than invisibility because, well, I still think that the heavy armor bonuses while playing on legendary are overpowered. I don't know how you enchant your armor, but if you enchant your armor with +XX Heavy Armor, your armor rating shoots wayyyyy up and makes you borderline invincible, at least enough to shieldbash enough times to disarm everyone in a room...

Anyways taking 2x legendary damage works.. I just like the feeling that to be able to kill someone I have to be defending (and using potions of fortify heavy armor, etc etc) and not just always on the attack like some action game.. If there's no challenge what's the point?

To give you an idea of how hard I want the game, I've turned off my compass and crosshair.

Yeah I turn all that stuff off too, I can count the number of times I've played in heavy armor on 1 hand tbh

I tend to play a lot of mages/archers/rogue types.

Just thinking about what you're doing, I would suggest... give ACE a try - on a new/different save - and see how it goes.

Also go and grab SkyTweaks and then you can really just modify everything the way you want imo.

That shield bash thing sounds ridiculously op

Yeah I looked into it.. The chance of disarm is 50%! Way too much for my liking.. Changing it to 1/200..

I looked into ACE but I'm not sure it's for me. I may just create my own perks (Edit: Made HA/LA 15% per point now), thanks anyways.. I'm still using your mods though because they feel right. I will most likely install your conjuration changes when they're available, too.

Yeah conjuration shouldn't be much longer, I've changed the Flame/Storm Atronachs to 50/100 hp and frost atronach's to 100/200 (the second number being the upgrade atronach perk hp).

It seems to be working well. I also took out thrall spells for undead except for Atronachs which only have those few hp anyhow.

This means that undead can tank, but you need corpses nearby, atronachs cannot tank but you can cast them anywhere.

Undead cannot be made into thralls which would get around needing corpses, atronachs you can but they probably won't last all that long anyhow.

It seems to be working well for me atm. It's a lot more balanced than vanilla.

i guess this could be useful.. i think i'll try it out, but personally i think it'll take a lot to beat my favourite 'let's make this more difficult' thing which is simply to drop your weapons and punch things to death.

There's nothing amazing or elegant about it, it just makes the changes I noted in the description.

Reason I did it like this was because you can tweak the game sure, but the tweaks usually nerf the entirity of archery and not just the OP perks. So like you can tweak all archery to do -20% damage, but it's going to need to change between level 10 and 40 because damage varies less over the progress of the game.

This way is simpler and fixes what's broken.
