I am flattered by the comments and I do thank you all for taking the time to download and play with this mod. I unfortunately do not play Skyrim at the moment, but I have been flirting with the idea to re-install with perkus maximus and re-mod it fully again. I do not have any plans for further extentions on this mod, that said, take the mod, modify it, use it and even share it here as your mod as long as you post the original link in your description and give me the rightful credit of mentioning my name somewhere. If I edit this or extent it I will probably only do it for nords because that's pretty much the only race I play. Plus I'm playing ESO now and then, working and my hobby with photography does not allow me a lot of time for games. And believe me this is unfortunate because I loved skyrim and I do like ESO. Feel free to message me with your edits/sharing/screens from this mod. I always love to take a closer look on your own view with my mod.
Great work here, thanks for this! However, I must take umbrage with this being called "40 yr. old". I'm 44, and I have no where near this level of wrinkling, just a bit around the eye corners when I squint, lol. Although to be fair, I've been mistaken for being much younger for most of my life, including getting ID'd when getting alcohol or smokes up until very recently. At the latter; that must've been the silver grey that's slowly migrating it's way into my beard & mustache... :p
I'm probably the only one that this bothers tbh, but in the middle/dark ages, the likelihood of actually surviving into what we think of as old age these days, as some of the oldest characters in-game, was exceedingly rare. Most didn't make it to their mid-30's with verrrry few making it past their 50th, & yet people of that age range & much greater are fairly common in Skyrim, strangely enough.
Come to think of it, I'm likely to use this as a replacer for the elderly male npc's in-game (if you'd be so kind as to do a female version, you'd be my immersion hero). ;)
In the middle ages they also didn't have healing magic, alchemical potions, races who easily live hundreds of years, etc. It's not really strange-- it's 4E 201 in a fantasy universe.
But I absolutely second female versions. Most modded female normal maps tend to make the women look airbrushed and plastic, and even vanilla, there's really no smooth curve between a face that looks 20 and a face that looks 60. I'd love to see more mods for hardened and experienced older women.
This is a common misconception. Like in the modern age with the life expectancy of African nations, the average lifespan of people in the middle ages was heavily skewed by infant mortality. If you survived childhood you could expect to live into your 60's and 70's or even older still.
I think your mod adds a lot of needed depth for skyrim, regarding what a character looks like while still looking real. I'm 40 and I think that vanilla skin mods are pretty weak if you want to play a character that is a little older. Any chance you could make this skin for all races?
I might do it, I will reinstall skyrim in a few days because I have the urge to start a new character and I've been feeling like that for a long time now. I'll see what I can cook but no promises.
Unfortunately it affects all the affiliated NPCs with your race. When I released this I was getting extremely pissed off at the construction set and I simply could not bother. This is more a resource than a mod itself with an .esp.
Hi, I really like the look, but I don`t dare to install it just like that, so I would like to know first:
Is this replacing the elder race (older) textures? (so all the old wrinlky textures in the game on npcs?) I dont want to loose them, so if the mod leave them intact I will install it.
