Interesting idea, but really it just feels as if it makes another unnecessary step to create jewelry. I can't recall any games out there that require the player makes the ring/necklace/earring/insertjewelryitem first and then adds the stone or stones in. Both are created at the same time to craft a specific piece of jewelry. At most this should make jewelry crafting a viable means to leveling Smithing, you can mine a bunch of gold or silver, or transmute iron ore to silver/gold, craft the ring and then craft it again adding in a common jewel. If you use a mod that lets you melt down jewelry you might be able to get the gems or ingots back depending on the mod and repeat the process.

It's called 'Immersion'. If you don't like it, don't download it.

Probably good for when you have a gold necklace and a gemstone, but previously had no way of combining the two. Can't tell you how many useless gems I had lying around

I know a guy that has made wedding jewelry his entire life, you make the item first then set the stone. Granted the setting on the item is tailored for the stone as it is being made, but it is usually a rough-out and fine tuning is done once the stone is to be set.

Personally I find this mod makes a whole lot more sense than the existing system. I am going to download it and give it a try, and will probably come back and endorse it. GG Clark thank you for saving me the trouble of doing this myself.

this is just my two cents, but since when does it take an ENTIRE ingot to make ONE ring? that seems a bit non-sensical to me. theoretically, one should be able to make at least four rings with one ingot, taking into account loss of materials in the melting process and shaping.

This mod remedies that, allowing you to make multiple rings with ingots, and then using those rings to make gemed jewelry.

The mod is pretty much for weight balance, bro.

And how many games even incorporate smithing jewelry have you played? The only game I know of is skyrim.

In order to make a ring or a necklace with a gem, you have to make the base ring first, then put the gem in. This mod takes advantage of that fact to create an even more logical form of crafting jewelry, and balance the amounts of raw materials used to make the rings and necklaces
