The idea of placing hold logotypes on the guarsd armour are good. The probblem with this is of course that those armours are not really designed for that purpose. To fix this a new set of armour need to be modeled but that is so much more then a simple reskinning job. In any case Skyrim are extremly similar to a fantasy nation I created for taple top roleplaying almost twenty years ago, there warriors usually worse a sholulder pads with their clan logos embossed on. They also frequntly tattoed the same logos onto their shoulders as well. Adding shoulderpads to thease armours may or not be possible to achive with reskinning, if not the remodeling job should be resonably minor for a skilled moddeler.
:/ I think the old texture was better because, well, armor is made to last unlike wooden shields. The "ragged look" suits armor much better in most cases I think...
