Now THIS is a crown mod! Well Done although next time, could make another crown that looks a little bit more like this? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ee/Royal_Crown_of_Denmark.svg/317px-Royal_Crown_of_Denmark.svg.png
I realize I'm a year or so "late" but I found this only recently. I love this idea completely, purely for aesthetics. (And maybe that extra enchantment if you're like me and you usurp the blazes out of the bugged Ancient Shrouded Cowl!)
But...I think it's slightly incompatible with Beast races. Being a Khajiit lover myself, I tried it. On mannequins? Wonderful. Looks just like your images. On my Khajiit's head? It reverts(?) into the vanilla Skyrim circlet. I wonder, is this a bug I can fix or is this one of those "Beast Race Things"?
I like the shape! can you retexture it to look more ancient/old? a worn gold with rust or dark specks. maybe intricate inlaid design in the middle band (between top and bottom head bands). thanks so much
I almost like this. I do agree with having a higher res, but also feel that it would be good to have some options to the mesh. I personally would prefer the ends not being so narrow and pointy. I think many would really enjoy a fleur de lis, but if you feel you can't do that, no worries. It might take more time to create that. I do feel that adding a U shape between the points would improve the design.
If you want a more believable texture, try creating a texture on top of what you have by adding a very faint "noise" filter. Keep it on gaussian and monochrome. I've done this in some metal textures for photo manips. If you want more highly polished metal, you'd have to play with the light effects in whatever software you use to render your 3D models. It's been a couple years since I got to toy around with modeling though. You may be able to do the hard contrast between light and shades in the texture though. An example would be on this crown: http://www.crowndesigners.com/en/images/uploads/C9228%20GOLD.jpg The dark and light are typically right next to each other, which gives the illusion of glossy texture in 2D form, such as drawing and painting. (I'm commenting through the mod file page, not the forums).

Either way, great work!
Im currently trying to learn 3DS for mesh making.
