it removes the ability to complete the thieves guild quest line, as i didn't pick up the letter, or did anything to any of the black-briar's yet, when I get to the point where i should be receiving the quest "the pursuit", it never comes. Console commands don't even seem to recognize that that quest even exists it seems. de-installed this mod, reloaded save and then i got the quest as i was supposed to.
This IS a game breaking quest IF you have not done any quests associated with Maven BlackBriar e.g. Thieves Guild, majority of Riften quests, Dark Botherhood ones & ofcourse parts of the Main story.
I only suggest doing this is you absolutly hate Maven BlackBriar or have completed all quests associated with her. If Maven is made Jarl of Riften via the main storyline/Imperials win the Civil war then you may want to think extra hard.
This also edits Maven herself e.g. makes her un-essential & I think moves that special Script thing that prevents important NPCS from either accidently dying or dying from fighting.
You should add some pre requisite conditions that allow the letter to appear. Of course, one condition is the Thieves Guild main quest completed. Then, the Player should already be Thane of Riften and the owner of Honeyside with Ione as Housecarl.
Only after the two above are completed, your mod should allow the letter to appear and the quest to start. And, finally, only at this point Maven will be killable.
It's almost the same as the f***ing Elenwen, Thalmor Mistress, who is essential until the Main quest is completed (Alduin defeated). After that, it's a pleasure to kill her in every manner you can conceive.
Yes I agree with nicole here, make it so its a Requirement of having to have done thieves guild line,and become leader of the guild, thus not break any questing along that, I dislike her as well, and will never see she makes yarl, or perhaps she becomes a DB Target ?
I agree. Maven is an arrogant, rude, manipulative &!&#@. Personally, I'd love to get a DB contract to kill her after completing the Thieves Guild quest line. Either that, or collect evidence against her and have her shipped off to the Markarth prison mines.
Oooo yeah markarth prison mine along with that head up his rear son of hers, he's just as bad, I'd like to see her daughter tho take over she's the only decent one out of the whole family, I'm currently doing thieves line, and made a safe save , and tried a test run using console command, jumped onto a roof overlooking the market, went to stealth ( and that's quite high ) with inviso mode and shot her with a bow , quietly and quickly, but the " you have assaulted a thieves guild member" still came up on screen, ./sigh so reloaded well at least that was all no red dots just someone shouted something about cold murder, guess riften people realllly don't like her as much as the player ;p no one had cared she'd been shot lolol
The daughter might not be as nice as you seem to think. From talking to her, I get the impression that she gets her jollies from poisoning small animals and watching them die. If that's the case then she could be a serial killer in the making...
I've done a similar mod playable at any stage (by remaking the Thieves Guild line and some other dependent quests), tested it and naturally forgotten. I can post it if someone needs.
I thought of sending her to the Volkihar dungeons or maybe to Eola and here friends.. but sadly those mods where not available. :'( After a good search I found your mod here, I love your mod! One of the best on the Nexus for I dislike Maven so much... Thank you!
I collected the letter okay, but could not kill Maven without using the Console command stripping her of being essential. Then when I went to collect the reward I found there are no chest and I could not leave the cave because the game kept triggered select "e" to enter skyrim. Luckily I could load the save game from before entering the cave. Seems the only thing which worked is the console command. I could have done than with collecting the letter. In the end Maven is dead and good riddance.
i........ I hate Maven... Hated her ever since i entered riften. Hate her so much that i wanted to just.......... just................ fucking slit her throat , slice open her stomach , remove the intestines , take out the heart and stab it multiple times , chop her head off.. put in the cooking pot pour all the weak poisons in it , chainsaw her body into multiple parts and hang them in bee and barb. Phew... sorry. I.... ... i just hate maven.
Old post i know, sorry but.. what you could do is have a decent heal other spell in one hand and the flames spell and also the paralyze spell. Paralyze her flame the Bi T CH till she's nearly dead but without killing her (yet) while keeping her alive with the healing spell. keep her paralyzed and on fire frozen zapped whatever takes your fancy and then once you're done with her then soul trap er and and finally kill her however you wish (TAKE ER f***'IN HEAD OFF!!) put her soul into a wooden sword with scaled down enchantment you know something completely useless, name the weapon Maven and drop the item into a bay somewhere or a lake, or leave it in a troll cave for the trolls to pick there teeth with, or to pick the clumps of s*** of there hairy arses idk.
Hello, I just want to mention along with nicole, I too also hate that elewyn, as well as maven, but in saying that, their voice actors and lines have and truly been very convincing , in their part, ( tracking for future interests)
Sadly, the author's been banned and then his whereabout is unknown (whether he's back or not). So, have you by any chance found other similar mod(s) which makes maven killable with a more approriate implementation?
If i kill her before she can become Jarl then who gets put in charge? Don't suppose it could be Saerlund as he is pro Imperial? Well no matter how it ends up i am willing to take a chance just to take her out.
However, if you run Become High King of Skyrim, you can replace her as Jarl. In fact, I had both her and her son imprisoned because I got tired of him reminding me "who is in charge around here". Then, he became the star of my first (and only) public execution.
Who did I make Jarl? Mjoll, the TRUE protector of Riften.
This particular mod Interferes with the Thieves Guild Questline. On the quest "Hard Answers" after talking to Enthir and Karliah the next quest "The Pursuit" fails to initiate. Console commands do not help. It also interferes with "Helping Hand" the quest that starts with you giving a health potion to Wujeeta in Riften to start the Thaneship & House owner in Riften questline. After giving her a potion there is no dialogue option to interrogate her about where she gets her skooma, effectively impeding your ability to gain your thaneship & house in Riften. I disabled this one mod to see if it helped, and both quests work fine now.
This mod is very satisfying, but I would recommend completing both the aforementioned questlines and install it after the Civil war is over to avoid bugs like those I encountered.
