Is Durnehviir supposed to be a higher level? He's still level 20 for me and admittedly that might be cause I didn't start a new game, but he gets pretty beaten up on the ground before he takes off each time I summon him.
Do you have to unlock the Drain Vitality shout in the Dawnguard so that he can use it? Because he has not used it once on my game. I'm on SE btw. Thanks for you're time.
This mod was the one which I was looking for but I think Odahviing should not have Drain Vitality shout because he prefers to use it all the time. I want to see Odahviing burn the skies.
Just getting back to modding with skyrim VR. I'll give this a go in my game and see what he does for me. The shout he uses is very dependent on what your game environment is like.
Strange, I wonder perhaps what other mods you may have that makes them do that. Perhaps an enemy mod with high resistances? ( drain ignores resistance so dragon would use that attack as preference )
But for me they almost exclusively use their breath attacks and rarely use drain. No changes done to AI.
Exactly how much more does this mod improve Durnehviir and Odahviing? For example, in this mod, what's Durnehviir's equivalent? Elder Dragon? I've been scouting for a mod to improve these two dragons, mainly Durnehviir, but all the mods I find make them too overpowered, turning them into deus ex machina kind of cheats.
They're quite a bit stronger, they were made strong enough to actually have an influence on the harder difficulties. In my game they still get taken down and can't kill an entire fort for example, but they may be able to on yours. This mod doesn't edit the shouts however, so if you're using them, you still aren't going to be using any other shouts for a long time.
Your mod is simple but apparently it makes Durnehviir use FROST BREATH almost never. 4 battles ago and he never used a single frost breath. Instead he kept on using drain vitality and summoning his minions. Can you take a look at this ?
He does use it in mine, but yeah if he's not using it at all good chance he feels it's not worth using, so I'd have to make drain vit a little weaker or frost a little stronger. It would depend on the enemies u fight also cause drain vit can ignore resistances. So your game can adjust it a bit. I'll adjust it a bit sometime in the future when I get back to playing.

Ironically this really nerfs them on air support, they only excel on melee.
I don't know why this does that. Trying to remove the mod also kept the issue around. I guess i have to make a clean save.
