Decent house, I've used it for quite a long time. I like how it isn't big yet it's extremely convenient, though I agree with TheDre - it's not as much on the immersive side. Still worthy of an endorsement.
Aarh come on, just another house with overused weapon racks all over the house.. and stones on shelf?! come on im looking for a basic nice realistic house
This is the perfect house for me! I always hated starting a new game and waiting to get breeze home before I was able to store my loot. Thank you so much for making this. I love this house, now I don't need to rush through the main story to get breeze home, I can take my time and enjoy this fine house. Everything works fine, I can change the stones and shrines, the underground is lite nicely. Very nice.
I wasn't too sure exactly how many chests the house would need since I normally only use one in my house anyway. I'll upload a patch later that adds a second chest.
People like to sort their goods in chests. a Chest or some sort of container near whatever you're using is the big deal, like one by the tanning rack for leather, one by the smither for ores, and so on.
I recommend redoing the navmesh. There is a lot of overlapping triangles and just missing triangles on places like the stairs for example. Just imagine that the navmesh is the only thing that the NPC sees, meaning; dont make navmesh go under tables and tanning racks where they would get stuck or over ledges like at the top of the stairs there.
Thanks for the update! I will be giving it a go tonight.
Edit: Update, the the changes are perfect, thank you.
If you get the time I think you should consider locating this same home in other areas of Skyrim, perhaps something with more of a view to take advantage of the nice little balcony. The more secluded, the better.
I like this home, the location and design are very nice. But I would offer another version for people who don't want the standing stone and shrine "cheats" in the house.
Also, two other changes would make it more liveable:
1) A safe in the corner of the bedroom where the boots are currently. Every home needs a safe storage for valuables. You could delete the boots and the one weapon rack and put a safe in the corner.
2) No way would anyone place a tanning rack inside a home, especially in the upstairs bedroom. Can you imagine the blood and smell? It belongs outside.
Great job on this and I will be watching for any updates/improvements you do.
A less "cheaty" version is on the cards for v1.2, don't worry it's something I've wanted to add from the start - I want the user to be able to tailor the mod to suit their playstyle.
1) I'll look into this, at the moment the boots were somewhat of an afterthought, and a safe would be a nice addition.
2) I'm afraid I've never had a tanning rack in my home, so I wasn't aware of this. I'll look into moving it down by the garden, perhaps round the back of the house as there isn't much there at the moment.
LOL, regarding a tanning rack in one's home, neither have I. But I can tell you the process of tanning a hide is very dirty and smelly. You take a fresh skin from an animal, stretch it out on a rack, scrape all the extra flesh/blood from it, salt it, and allow it to dry. I don't think even a hardcore hunter would want one in their house.
And to add to the "less cheaty" version of the home, I would do away with the basement and its equipment. We can walk to Riverwood to use the forge there. Perhaps just a grindstone outside the home to sharpen one's wood axe, close by to the tanning rack or wood pile.
Also, be aware in your video you mention a hunter's camp nearby. That is actually a bandit camp.
I felt that the best way to address the issue of having parts of the house the player doesn't want was to give them the choice.
When you read the Owner's note you now get offered a menu, where you can choose to disable the Guardian stones, the shrines and the mines if you'd like.
The tanning rack was moved outside to improve the smell of the bedroom, and a safe was added.
