I've also got the trespassing bug. There are a few other things I could mention, but the biggest is not being thrilled to have the fireplace replaced with a blue mushroom garden...especially on cold winter nights.

But I had to say, the outside of this place is...amazing. Like one of those Iron Age steadings. Oh. Freaking. Wow.

Will endorse if bug is fixed.

I just downloaded this mod, and my characater can't sleep in the bed it says"cannot sleep while Trespassing". I found the key, with no problem, was there something I was supposed to do? Also I don't hear any music, or bird song, downloaded from Nexus with no problem.

I love Ivarstead and this was my first Skyrim modded house I've added. I have a ranger so this is perfect for her. I absolutely love the walkway along the hill's edge. It's wonderful with a great view. There is pleeennnnnty of storage in the house.

    Two problems:
The birdsong sounded pretty when I walked up, then it turned into a fast-windchime sounding effect...not sure what's happening there.
Also when I left the house for the first time, there was a rumbling around on my beautiful walkway. I looked over and there was a dead guard halfway in the walkway and a weird

BEAUTIFUL location! Wonderful house from the outside! Really, from the outside it's quiet perfect.

My only criticism is as follows:

The two dwemer containers, in the main alchemy house and the ring-dwemer container in the enchanting room feel a bit out of place. And, as others have said, there are a lot of well-placed display cases, but a bit too many.

Lastly, I wish there weren't 2 loading segments to journey through the entire house.

    But besides that, wonderfuL!

    Endorsed.

This mod has a lot of potential and is in a nice location.

The passageway downstairs with the enchanting table doesn't have followers appear there. If you go into the display room they reappear. Actually, this isn't such a bad thing: if you want to take followers to the display room and they appear with you in the passage there could be real problems with them getting in the way. It's probably worth sticking with this unless you make other changes to the mod that affect the issue in some way.

Following on from that, given that followers cannot access the enchanting table, that's one less thing for followers to do, thus one less reason for the player to stay home and enjoy your work. The more stuff there is to do at home for both player and followers, the more time people will spend in your mod.

Similarly, you have a side cabinet with some ingredients on it in the upper room (iirc) that doesn't work as a container. Sure, you have provided plenty of containers already but what's the point of a functional item not functioning? A storage option that acts as mere decoration breaks immersion. Same with the pointless barrels. If you're going to take up space putting barrels in there, at least lets us put our crap in them. Nevermind that Bethesda filled Skyrim with unusable barrels. The nexus is the place where we improve things like that. You can never have too many storage options, only too few. If you open those barrels up to us you'll be surprised how efficient players are of having different things to put in different places.

Storage place for Chillrend: can you not let the player decide what they want to put in there? How about roleplay characters (which your mod has the potential to be eminently suitable for) who won't ever get Chillrend?
Giving containers specific names is not a bad thing, but usually it's about helping OCD players categorize and find their junk. Doing that makes sense: the barrel named 'Apples store' or whatever, that's cool, but the more you assume or dictate what the player does with their storage in terms of gameplay related things like specific weapons the more you are either breaking immersion or limiting the player. I'm not saying all this is a huge big deal that we should lose sleep over, just trying to rationalize it for you so your player home can have the widest possible appeal.

Now, this is partly a general piece of constructive criticism but also partly my own personal opinion...

The room I have politely referred to as the display room I really see as a vanity room. Ok, so you're aiming this at a mid-level player presumably who has begun to achieve a few things. That's fine and every player house and his dog usually features the obligatory display cabinets and mannikins.
First let me thank you for not forcing those damn mannikins on me. But for my own personal taste I just don't feel the need to display loads of junk. That house for me would have appealed for being a reasonably normal place to live. Instead a lot of space is wasted on being vain as if this were a room in a castle or something.
Furthermore, what's the point of taking our followers into this room given all they can do is sit down, get up and sit down again? To me this area is a wasted opportunity to have some practical things to do (enchanting could have been in here too), or at least have some more options for followers to perform idles. It could also have been where followers sleep and cook for themselves.

I admit, much of what I just said is my own preferences, but I hope you see some more general point to it than just me being selfish and expecting you to make a house that I want. I really think the style of this house would work far better if it was all about functionality for players who want a realistic place to live their lives: hunters, alchemists, whoever, and all their follower friends with lots of stuff to do.

Maybe I missed it, but where is the cooking?
There is a wardrobe downstairs but not one upstairs near the bed. Where do we hang our clothes?

What you did with the fireplace is quite nice, indeed, even the magical style light source in the mini garden is acceptable. The basic layout and a lot of the decor and clutter you have chosen are very well done.

This is a nice mod with huge potential but it has a few minor issues and one big problem in that it doesn't seem to know if it's immersively realistic and functional or if it's a stop off for a dovakhiin who will ultimately move up in the world to a castle full of magical things and vanity-related stuff to reflect his epic adventures.

This mod DOES work for a hunter or mage character, but it might be well-served to be given a bit more focus as a lovely immersive place to spend one's time because it really is worthy of the love.

Thanks for listening to my ranting =P

I kinda agree with this poster, even though I haven't experienced it myself yet. Display cases and stuff like that in such an ordinary backwoods house are pretty out of place. A couple weapon mounts on the wall, or maybe, if there is such a thing, an armour stand (like a mannequin, but just a rack). Of course, I might change my mind upon seeing the place myself, but by the sounds of it, it could be better used for something else.

As for the naming of barrels and cupboards, this makes sense, and I disagree that only OCD people do this. In real life, people organize and keep such things organized in their own homes. Whether or not the player decides to do this or not is their own choice. No one is forcing them to use apple barrels for apples... everything goes into the same storage database anyway.

I didn't say only OCD people do this. I used OCD people as a cliche example =]

wow! this is good constructive criticism.

      Storageplace for chillrend:
the "storage place for chillrend" was not on purpouse. Thanks for noticing me of that, even with the "apple storage" and i agree with you that the player should be the one deciding what to put where.

      cooking place:
the reason why there is no cooking is because i don't want to ruin the "cozy fireplace atmosphere", i understand that cooking is quite important so im having thought of making a basement below the "displaycase room" for just that, with a lot of food and dry meat haning and stuff like that.

      Display cases:
yes now when i get another perspective i admitt that mabye there is to many of those and they might not fit in such a house BUT, the whole house is furnished with "upper class" furnitures which i think goes hand in hand with display cases. So if the displaycases does'nt fit there i think the upper class furnitures should be changed to farmhouse furnitures. i have to think on this one.

      followers cant follow to enchantroom:
thanks for noticing, i will have a look into that. Maby ill leave it as it is just because of the small space

cabinet that doesn't work as a container:
when im thinking of it, yes it's pretty stupid. Of course ill change that

      Mannekins:
i will not put mannekins in the house because i think it's to much, i will though put weaponracks and place on wall for wepons and shield!

"This mod DOES work for a hunter or mage character":
Yes!! that's exactly my purpuse. Im so tired of house mods that's totally overkilled, huge castles with 100 rooms and stuff like that. I wanted a small "realistic" house near Ivarstead.

I Am working on the update now and i will have your post as a helpful tool when editing. Thanks for your thoughts!
This is my first Skyrim mod, i have done a lot in Oblivion before but that's pretty simple compared to Skyrim Also, im sorry for my bad english!

This is really cute! Ivarstead has always been one of my favourite spots in the game for some reason. 9:10 times I'll pick this place in Live Another Life. haha
