So per the vanilla game, I either had to lug a set of ugly Nordic boots around, or use the extremely rare potions (before they run out too)? This is perfect for my mage, and will level up his alteration as well. +++++
Holy crap- when I found the waterwalking potions, I assumed that Bethesda had made a spell and enchantment with the waterwalking effect, but because I'm playing a non-mage, I had no reason to check. But they actually DIDN'T? That's so stupid and lazy of them, jeez.
I'm aware these are old comments but it really baffles me that so-called """fans""" of this game can have such a low opinion of Bethesda, or, for that matter such poor critical thinking skills (probably because most of you are in grade school or by now HS freshmen).
Do you really think Bethesda withheld water walking because they were 'lazy'? GTF outta here. It would literally require a developer a few minutes to create the necessary items and leveled list to populate the world with it. LAZINESS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. It was an INTENTIONAL design decision to cut it out, just as it was an intentional design decision to cut out things from previous games, like spell crafting.
Why you may ask? For any number of reasons. Perhaps they felt it didn't fit Skyrim's overall design, since most bodies of water are found on the north coast and lakes. Maybe Bethesda wanted players to swim and explore and felt water walking would make it too easy to circumvent certain obstacles. Similar things were said about Oblivion when Bethesda removed the flying magical effect which was available in Morrowind; Oblivion had inaccessible areas and flying would have ruined the related quests that those areas barred you from entering.
Either way, it has nothing to do with laziness or apathy on Bethesda's part because, guess what?, Bethesda knows what its doing.
"Bethesda knows what it is doing" Yeah, They knew they couldn't make open cities on consoles and didn't want people to bypass or break their physics traps so they disabled levitation in Oblivion and Skyrim (With Skyrim and beyond, they could just make the whole sky over the city an 'entrance' like they do with the caves..Maybe), and they couldn't keep you out of certain places (Goldenglow) if you could just hop up off the surface of the water onto the dock or ship without going through their quest to unlock it.
Dear CaptainRC, Thanks for the mod! I would really like to know, is there a way to change the duration and the magica cost of this spell? I kinda want to make it harder. Also, is there a way to make the spell cost per second?
Awesome, just one question. How did you add the spell to vendors? Did you add them into the vendors chests or did you use script to do it? Because if you used only edit leveled list or chest you mod will become incompatible with any other mod that does that. Just to give you heads up
Absolutely GREAT for those who miss this from Morrowind, and those who have Frostfall, or both. Also, maybe you could think about an unlocking spell, like from Morrowind. It could be an Alteration spell for those mages who don't want to invest in lockpicking, but still want to loot chests in dungeons. It wouldn't work every cast. That would be appreciated!

Edit: Tolfdir sells it now, I just had to wait a few days.
