Riverwood is too unimportant to have large imposing city walls, instead I think Riverwood and other small settlements should have those palisades you find around bandit camps and orc strongholds.
The large walls shouldn't be going through the water, the water flows right through the wall and so it makes it look stupid. Also there is a guard thing that stretches over the road in the default version of Riverwood, the wall covers it. This mod needs updating otherwise I recommend people not waste their time and download it.
Wouldn't it make more sense for a "tiny settlement", with a lumber mill, to have wooden walls? Maybe wooden posts lining the outskirts of the village, possibly with an archer's post set-up at the gates or something.
Yeah, I know why you're saying that, but I want to move some imperial troops into the village in the next update to garrison the wall; they were supposed to be the ones who are protecting the town.
Hmm... I could even make two versions; one with Imperials, and one with Stormcloaks. Oh, and sorry that I haven't done any work for so long; I've had problems with the Creation Kit. I'm hoping to continue this mod as soon as possible. Oh, and thanks for the ideas!
Why not just have the Whiterun detachment of guards protect the city after you warn Jarl Balgruuf about the attack on Helgen? . . maybe just make it a larger detachment after all i'll bet Whiterun gets most of it's wood from Riverwood.
I'm getting some work done on my laptop, and I'm not expecting it back for about another week or so. I will release your idea as soon as I get my laptop back; It shouldn't take too long to do. I think that I will be releasing either next Wednesday, or even maybe next Tuesday.
There are no changes to the actual Riverwood files; only additions. The base Riverwood has not been changed, so it shouldn't conflict with any of the Castle Riverwood mod's changes. I do not currently have my laptop, and I'm not expecting it back until about next Tuesday, so I can't look into this yet, but I will check it out when I can.
Hmm... I think that I can definitely do this, but I will make it as a separate mod. I want to keep just the walls mod, so if you want both the walls and the buildings, then you will have to download both of the mods, but also so you can download them separately.
