Hi HXP! Your mod is a work of art! Working Perfectly with my ENB and the rest of them. I have so many new screenshots of your galaxies (especially the ones that also have the Northen lights in them) that i lost count. Thank you!
i've created it in fomod form you can find it here: https://www12.zippyshare.com/v/f6KRJcY9/file.html and https://mega.nz/#!isBlTKwD!Ex7EQ0OghBdYowJ7xXRFVRQBzCWUU6Zf8qNix1JOx8k ive tested it it should work
Three years and you couldn't organize the file correctly for MO or even NMM. Its great you've done this, now maybe take the two minutes to set it up so everyone can use it as easily as the other 99% of the mods on the site.
EDIT: Here, did it for you for v3 (the one that the main page links to). Use this. Add instructions that say, "When installing with MO, right-click the desired Galaxy folder and click Set Data Directory."
Good quality images, but I was only able to try out one. Downloaded the main file "5 Galaxies Redone", installed via Nexus Mod Manager and ran the game without selecting anyone in particular but just letting them overwrite each other, upon install. Got a nice sky on first run.
Then, I wanted to try out the other skies you had. In the "5 Galaxies Redone" folder under ..skyrim/data/ I deleted all but one folder, to check out the individual ones. This is where the problems started. Upon loading the new sky half of the sky was from the original one and the other half from the other image. I then figured I should uninstall everything and download without installing via Nexus Mod Manager (and extract all images and make one installable .7z for each individual sky to be able to select them in NMM, so that they could overwrite each other correctly).
I uninstalled it via the Nexus Mod Manager, but the sky was still there (your sky). I then noticed here in the comments that the sky is usually changed under skyrim/data/textures/sky, so I deleted the entire sky folder. Still, it is not gone!
So, how the f**k do I uninstall this? You say you dont want to force your mod on people, but this sure feels like it!!
I just hope the sky is not locked to my save file. I will be waiting for a reply. Please be quick!!
EDIT: Pheew, was finally able to get the default sky back. I had to go back to an old save file that I luckily had inside a house (where the windows are not connected to the sky outside), where upon going outside and rewinding to night there was none of this mod present. It weird how this mod sticks around even if you uninstall EVERYTHING. So, note that upon install you should have a backup save file ready (inside a house, before applying the mod), so that you can revert back to that if you want to uninstall.
As there is no uninstall instructions from the mod author it appears (to me) that the only way is to: - Uninstall mod from your mod manager - Revert back to old save file, before the mod was installed in the first place.
Someone else has pointed out why you havent adapted to the other methods that most mods do. Why? To me at first I thought it was fine, that we would just have to accept being not lazy and just doing a little extra work to get the satisfying skies. But seeing what I saw, the argument of why you would not make the mod easier to install (and uninstall) goes beyond any user laziness. As it stands for me, it would have affected my gameplay experience. Im just lucky I didnt continue my RPG experience ie. for 10 more hours, only then to realize that I would have to lose 10 hours of gameplay in order to go back to a save file where the mod was not installed, if I didnt want the mod anyway.
So, when it affects gameplay like that I would say your mod is in parts broken - and that it therefore needs a fix! So, please do fix your mod!
I love the idea of this and the photos are beautiful. BUT! There is noticeable tiling of the texture the galaxy / nebula abruptly stops and there's a band of empty space (well, just stars) and then it starts again. There is also visible stretching, so objects that should be circular appear stretched. This is a real shame, because I really wanted to love and use this mod.
