hey guys thanks for the comments and my first endoresement,

sirchet, i just thought no point keeping it to myself if someone wants it there welcome to it if they dont well it doesnt change my game in anyway i still use it, the chests of metal isnt a bad idea, personally i wouldnt wanna lump them from helgen though lol i suppose maybe a chest in riverwood? i have been considering doing a mod that simply adds a none respawning chest near most forges so you can store any metals and leather in that chest for easy access, but havnt looked into it much just the other day with my warrior walking really slowly trying to bring all my dragon bones from my house to the forge lol,i think when youve completed it you should post it let others benefit from your hard work and id be intrested to see what you did with the metals.

bellestarr, exactly! thank you for that i never considered the armour logic before but im glad to see people do understand what i was trying to do, and i never considered it to ruin my experience in anyway. but thanks guys.

May I mod this and release a changed version?

I have some ideas and think a mod of this would make for a good first release for me.

      Please and thank you.

There is one way to fix the "take it all and become OP" problem. you can make the barrel (or say, an NPC cowering from Alduin) start a conversation where you select "I am a mage," "I am a warrior," or "I am an assassin" from the list (or any other preset class equipment you think would be fun to add) and it gives it to you, then it either empties its inventory into a container that isn't able to be reached, pulls it from an unreachable merchant chest of its own then becomes hostile, not allowing you to take from it, or perhaps the barrel/NPC runs off.

Another possibility is that its an NPC that when you speak to it, starts a quest to select which gear you want, and when the quest is completed, the option to take more gear doesn't happen. Imagine say...the Helgen Blacksmith cowering in the next hallway (after the fight with the imps/stormcloaks in the circular room in the picture)

This mod seems like a cool idea, even if its of little use to me, so i'd be happy to endorse it if I see that change. ^_^ And for the record, I use the alternative start mod and haven't been through the Helgen start in a LONG time. That's why its not of use to me. Wish I had something like that in the alternative start prison cell.

Thanks for the handy mod. ^,3,^

Going to use the full version, the spell tomes are handy for my started mage/wizard, will still just use the loot gear from enemies though.
Also a reply to those complaining.. either 1, don't get the mod or 2, get the mod and only loot the specific items you need, find usefull or less "starter-OP" and don't complain.

Thanks again for the mod kgnmike88

Great idea to make this for folks, I have to admit that I've been making my own starter pack for quite a while now.

The only difference between yours and mine, (besides you being brave enough to post it ) is that I added a few chests of each metal for crafting.

Pointless. What's the point of question and looting if you're giving a bunch of free stuff away?

Why did you even bother to comment? Do you really think any of us are not going to use this because YOU think it's pointless?

If you don't like it, move on ... or better yet, make a mod yourself that is more to your belief in what is, or isn't pointless.

I don't understand the "pointless" comments.

Everyone plays differently and if this mod fits their needs, its not pointless to them now is it?

There's plenty reason to continue looting. This is not the first mod that gives you "free stuff"

Its like you downloading armor and me throwing my arms in the air saying ... well no point in looting anymore.

90% of the mods on nexus is about giving you free stuff (armor, houses, weapons)

Here's a tip: If you're gonna criticize, make it constructive, that way you don't look like an ass.

THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS GUYS, ILL LOOK INTO SEPERATING THE CONTAINERS, AND THE IDEA WAS AS BOERTHI SAID TO ONLY TAKE WHAT YOU WERE PLAYING AS HENCE THE WEAPONS CHOICE SO IF I WAS PLAYING A 2 HANDED BATTLEAXE PLAYER I CHOOSE THE ARMOUR AND BATTLEAXE IF I WANTED A MACE AND AN AXE I TAKE THOSE ETC, SAME WITH THE MAGE I PERSONALLY THINK YOU EITHER NEED CONJURATION OR DESTUCTION AT THE VERY LEAST FOR A MAGE SO MY HOPE WAS YOU WOULD TAKE 1 OF THE SETS DEPENDING ON YOUR PLAY THROUGH SAME WITH THE SPELL TOMBS. I WILL TRY AND ADD A SECOND VERSION WITH WEAKER/LESS EQUIPMENT FOR THOSE WHO PREFER THAT.

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK GREATLY APPRECIATED

Your idea seems good just a few suggestions though.
1: Steel seems a bit much. You would be better off using probably iron and iron weapons. You have to remember you are just starting and steel even though it is weak at the start can still seem overpowered. I wouldn't be adding every weapon either. Probably 1 two handed and maybe 2 one handed.

2: Archer set is fine but 100 arrows seems a bit much. Keep them steel but maybe reduce them to 30-50 and 5 potions of true shot is a bit much maybe 2/3 and a skirmisher potion or something.

3: Mage seems way to overpowered. Probably only have 1 robe not 2, not both staffs either they are overpowered after start. And too many spell tomes. Reduce the number. Probably only have calm, fear, fury and a weak conjure.

4: Add them in a desperate barrel each so you don't have to go through each one. Name them Warrior, Mage, Archer.

i agree, iron should be the starting tier, steel is a tad overkill for a brand new character.. hell, even a full set of iron is a bit much but thats still a lot more resonable. all the weapons gotta go too.. the idea is to help a new character, not flood them with stuff. they are going to encounter a TON of iron/steel weapons from the bandits and various other lifeforms. 1 sword, 1 mace, 1 2handed sword would be good enough for starters.

the archer stuff is ok, i dont have any complaints with it, really. arrows are so easy to stockpile already

mage stuff is too much. not even counting the staves, but all those spell tomes? thats like 2k gold worth of stuff right there that you dont have to spend..

i do like the overall idea of a little boost for a noob. but it needs to be toned down and tweaked a bit more... although, i use 'alternative start' and that gives me plenty of options. still, nice job

@fortie why do you complain? you can just take the things you want to and leave the rest. I like it that it is designed for every type of player, but your idea to seperate it is good.
