For me it works, but not, had to uninstall customizable camera mod to get the positioning correct but even then it means my char is always invisible while mounted, even in 3rd person, also I cannot see my weapons which looks odd and makes it difficult to aim arrows without using crosshair, which is what I wanted the mod for in the first place
Not so perfect for me. it does work with the camera tricks but i'm now stuck with it when i'm off the horse. ie. i can't see my weapon anymore and can only see myself if I zoom right out. Other than that i'm getting stuck in third person a lot when i'm fighting on horses or going up or down a hill. Maybe there's a way to fix it. It would be good if I could fix it.
Wow..works perfectly so far. It feels soooo good to see that on screen!! I mean, I really wonder why Bethesda didn't include it. Why make a FPS and remove the FPS aspect when riding horse? Hope they won't make these stupid mistakes again for the next elder scrolls!!
Anyways..THX!!
EDIT: Dammit! Talked too fast, at some point my character turned invisible and wouldn't turn back to normal. It seem I won't play with this mod, arrgg.
this is a great little ini tweak. i don't go invisible after a dismount and i can get the camera closer whether on or off a horse (with some minor announces). HOWEVER, i can't use it because my character never goes completely invisible, mostly noticeable while riding a horse downhill. so i can just barely see my helmet and arrows riding a horse with my weapon unsheathed. i tried to tweak this for about an hour, and i guess i'll just have to settle for vanilla horse riding and maybe convenient horses. Unless someone knows how to tweak it so my av goes completely invisible while trying to first-person ride my horse? or maybe a good in-betweak™ they've found between the camera and their fov setting? any ideas? also u guys should realize your fov setting has an effect on this too! I personally like mine between 68-71 (usually 69)
Thanks for posting this! It seems to work just fine for me, at least for now. However, I will say that I've had better luck by changing the lines of text in Skyrim.ini from
I've tried all the instructions on this page and my character still goes invisible when she dismounts with no other camera mods. Sigh. I really want this because RealVision ENB makes DoF wonky on horseback.
How to install: 1. Install First person horse mod v7 (scripted) 2. Download first person workaround mod on this page 3. Open the workaround version, open the .txt file and copy the two lines of code [Camera] and the other one. 4. Paste those two lines of code at the bottom of skyrim.ini located in Documents>MyGames>Skyrim 5. Ensure you have pasted it in skyrim.ini NOT Skyrimprefs.ini 6. Enjoy.
(Great mod, but your page is lacking in adequate tutorial, it's confusing for new modders.)
Did exactly this... and it adjusted the camera a bit up, which fixed my RealVision ENB PoV issue on horseback, lol. But did not give me first person. And my character was irrevocably invisible after I dismounted. So... not so much. I triple-checked your instructions. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Sigh.
Unfortanly it doesnt work for me, i tried everything, ( Instaled the script, changed the skyrim.ini... Entered & exit a cave... unequiped the weapon while in the horse, unequiped while on the ground, equiped while in the horse, etc... ) Doesnt work...
Skyrim Version 1.9.32.0.8 SkSE 1.6.16 (rel 44)
EDIT: I made it work... Ill post a tutorial for the newer modders.
1- Download the script, ( Install with the NMM, located in the top of this page)
2- copy and paste on the bottom of skyrim.ini ( In my computer is set in C:\Users\Watson\Documents\My Games\Skyrim )
3.1- Make sure the mod is active and before any other camera mod´s ( On the mod list 1-xxx ... This means that this mod will start before any other , therefore, will have more "Priority". ONLY KEEP READING IF THIS OPTION DOESNT WORK! 3.2- Unistall any other camera changer mode 3.3- Make priorities in wich mod´s you want to have ( Meaning, try to find with wich mod it conflitcs, and its up to you if you prefer this one more than the other
I have 111 mod´s and all them work perfectly,
4- Enter the game, load, get into tha horse and draw your weapon ( Click R )
just tried it out but the camera kept ending up under the horse. I may try again at a later date but will have to ride my horse the old fashioned way. Maybe its conflicting with another mod.

I didn't have horse combat installed, maybe thats my problem. My horse ran off now so will haft to wait and see. Now to fix the stealth bug!
Did you really unsheath and sheath your weapon?
