This is just wonderful work. I'm in full understanding that you have a busy life but I am curious as to whether you would continue with the rest or most of the NPCs in the game. This NPC overhaul is exactly what I was looking for and I'm extremely grateful for your efforts!
This is what I have been looking for all this time. Natural, lore-friendly modifications of Skyrim's population, a mod that brings out the unique in a character without changing their original feel. I cannot thank you enough for this! Endorsing as soon as possible!
for some reason my Aela the huntress head does load up correctly and is grayed out a bit with no face paint. When I turn off this mod her face goes back to normal and I don't have any other face mods like beautiful female faces or anything like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated cause it is only happening to Aela and I really enjoy this mod
I did not edit many elves so potential conflicts are minimal. I suggest having elven overhaul after faces of skyrim in your load order to 'overwrite' my edits.
EDIT: I checked out EEO (thank you, somehow I had been unaware it existed). Using NMM, install my mod first, then install EEO and allow it to overwrite the files from my mod. Make sure to put my mod above EEO in your load order. This (so far) works perfectly in my game.
Hi - I really love this mod! Nice, subtle changes to characters that really did need it. I did run into a small issue after it was installed, though. Brenuin in Whiterun wasn't wearing any clothes. I pick-pocketed him and saw that he did have beggars rags in his inventory, but he didn't have them equipped. Do you know any way this could be fixed? I wouldn't mind it so much except that with another mod I installed he really isn't wearing anything at all! He's not really decent to be around little kids in public, so it's kind of embarrassing.
Sounds like a potential mod conflict... which can happen, I run 132 plugins and I don't even know how many mods total so trust me I know. In order to track down the problem I would have to reconfigure my game to use exactly the same mods that you are, which I am sure you can understand is far too massive an undertaking when there is another option.
If you run TES5Edit for *all* your mods you are using at once (be prepared to wait a bit, it may take time to load) you can check for any other mod that also makes changes to Brenuin by looking in the entries in mine, specifically in regards to his assigned outfit and inventory.
these faces look great (especially njada's). but i have one complaint. why did you have to change ysolda . i have a mod that changes ysolda's face and i don't want to get it replaced. can you tell wich one of the .niff's and .dds i have to delete? thanks if you do.
One way to deal with Ysolda's conflict would be to install my mod first, then the one you want for her and allow it to overwrite my files. Then just make sure the Ysolda mod you like is after mine in your load order.
The other and sure-fire way is a bit more complicated but still completely do-able. First and foremost you will need to get TES5Edit http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859/?
Here's how to remove Ysolda from my mod:
1. Make sure my mod is installed.
2. Open TES5Edit.
3. Using TES5Edit (refer to the author's tutorial for basic use), apply filters to my mod with only "Conflict Status Inherited by Parent" selected.
4. Open up my mod's section for "Non-Player Character (Actor)" and find the line/row for Ysolda.
5. Right click on her row and select "Remove". Exit out of TES5Edit properly to save the change.
6. Now you will need to delete my mod's texture and mesh files which for her are "00013BAB"
Lastly, install the mod you want to use for Ysolda.
I don't understand what is going on. This is the only NPC face mod I have installed, yet I have lots of NPCs with grey faces all over the place. What could I be doing wrong?
Without knowing what mods you have that *might* be conflicting with mine there is not much I can do to help. Try using TES5Edit and running it for all mods at once (which depending on your computer may take a while) and see if anything is in conflict.
Beyond that, is you did not install using NMM, make sure you also have the following folders installed from my mod (the last folder in the path is from my mod, path just shows where it should be:
Skyrim> Data> Meshes> actors> characters> FaceGenData> FaceGeom> Skyrim.esm (101 items in this folder)
Skyrim> Data> textures> actors> character> FaceGenData> FaceTint> Skyrim.esm (202 items in this folder).
EDIT: Just found the issue, I mislabeled a folder name. I have a couple of new faces from the vanilla game I wanted to do and will likely release tonight which will have the correct folder name.
Inside the "skyrim\Data\meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData" folder there is no "FaceTint" folder. Just a folder called "Facegeom". Could this be what is causing my issue? Perhaps I need to re-download the mod. I'll have to try that later when I have some more time. I've disabled all other mods that I thought might be interfering with character faces to no avail so far. If all else fails I'll try running it in TES5Edit like you suggested, but I have a pretty fast machine and I don't run a lot of mods so I don't think it should take long.
The FaceTint files are in the textures folder, not meshes. If those are missing or the meshes, or the .esp file, or any combination of missing stuff will in all likelihood cause the gray face issue.
Thank you everyone for the compliments and endorsements. I took something of a break from Skyrim to bury myself in some good books but am back. I will be starting on DLC faces soon and will be doing an update of the main file to include someone I cannot believe I missed, oh the horror! Gwendolyn at Battle-Born farm *shudder* She has to be related to Garthar...

The good news is that a quick console command sorted it out, so he's gone back to begging instead of flashing

Glad you liked the others!
