So these drivers were not for my make of nvs3100m, but i did something else, i decided to try a desktop card driver on my laptop card, i downloaded this: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/Quadro_Certified/311.15/311.15-quadro-tesla-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql.exe (for 64bit OS) and replaced the nv_dispwi.inf that extract after you run file one time with this one: http://laptopvideo2go.com/infs/310series/31115_win8x64/nv_dispwi.inf
used this guide: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/9243-forceware-updaters-quickstart-guide/ and ran the setup.exe of the driver i downloaded (from the folder i extracted to), in skyrim performance monitor it shows less vram is being used, and i feel the game's smoother, but i can't see an FPS increase. i would not recommend anyone doing it only one's who are proficient in these things, my WDDM version didn't change tho, while my driver version did, however i'm starting to think WDDM 1.2 is only for windows 8.
@ewi65 and demon_uk2001, thanks very much for the pointer, i had downloaded the latest driver from nvidia website, but i'm willing to give this one a go, will update on how that went!
@ThisMeAvi: You should update to a driver from nVidia's website man, in your description I found this "Driver Model: WDDM 1.1" from a system report, if you update chances are you're likely to get much needed improvement in performance WDDM 1.1 is bundled display driver with windows. Just thought I'd let you know, nice work!
@KnightRangersGuild, i don't know about what you are describing. aljustineg & others if you have same CPU / RAM / Video Card it might help, you can easily check by using skyrim performance monitor with your current settings then quit skyrim, use this settings file and re-check, whole process takes 10 minutes on 1st setup but 2 minutes for each other time you check new preferences.
Hi I was wondering if you knew why there is a round circle of shadow around my character? It's not from your settings but I figured maybe you would now which setting I could change to fix this. It basically is a shadow about 15' around my character that always follows me around, it's very annoying, hope you can help thanks.
@DsGBiohazard, there's a mod for viewing everything everywhere (landscape, npcs etc.), not sure this config i posted is the right one for you (unless you're on a low spec laptop and then i would still ask you to search for that mod).
I want to be able to view everything everywhere, and have a high quality character with high quality items and armor. But EVERYTHING else is fine. Any way you can manage this?
