I'll probably pick up work on this again relatively soon. I've got just a tad more experience working with papyrus script so that may open up a lot of options to me in terms of fixing the resist bug.
This seems like an excellent mod and I will try it out asap. Just one suggestion though: from the description, it appears you have made the three specialization perks fairly equal in power. So wouldn't it make sense for them to be available at the same level, instead of the 50/60/70 thing it is now.
Hm. I've been using this, and it does sound very good, but lately I've noticed something strange. No matter how much I use destruction magic, my skill doesn't seem to increase. I figure this may have been the case since I installed this mod, though I may be wrong. Was just posting here to see whether you might know anything about this? I'll look around in some of my other mods, but I can't imagine what could be causing this. Currently locked at a destruction skill of 72.
EDIT: Did a quick comparison with and without this mod. With it uninstalled the skill increases as usual, so it seems that it is indeed this mod that is causing this. Bit of a shame, I liked the utility of the elemental spells and casting more than one circle.
I'm not really sure what would cause that. In all the testing I've done I do get resist messages on fire spells (although it only tells me the spell that was resisted, not the specific effect), but it still applies the damage and other effects as it should.
The effect you mentioned is just a duplicate damage effect, in which the only thing different from the original is the taper duration, the spell cost, and the conditions that allow it to activate (specifically it's set only to trigger if the caster has the Combustion perk, and the first damage effect is set to trigger only when the caster doesn't).
My best guess is that the problem somehow came from the weakness effect of combustion since I didn't start receiving resist messages until it was added. I'm working on some other changes atm, but ill try to see if I can replicate the bug to figure out why it happened and how I can fix it.
Is there anything else you could tell me about how it happened, like if there are any mods you can think of that you might've been using that would alter fire spells, or how resistances work, or anything along those lines?
Hmm,something weird happened fighting few bandits using the flames spell,a message was appearing all the time when I was hitting them saying "Bandit resists Combustion" ...and I saw that after chasing and hitting him for more than 3 minutes no damage was done on him. Without your mod haven't any problem like this.Don't know why but I can't use it cause of this.
EDIT: I saw that you pit just 8 the magnitude of "CombustionFireDamageConcAimed "Flames" [MGEF:030048B2]" so that's why...and you modified other magnitude values too(not speaking for those already mentioned on the main description).
