I have an issue where the helmets sometimes appear jet black with no texture. I do run another stormcloak texture mod but that just changes the cuirass but not the helm so don't see that is the issue. Any ideas?
Hi, sorry for the late reply! Check that the other texture mod does not include a texture for the helmet. I'm guessing the other mod was made properly as an .esp file? It might be confused by a conflict of textures. I'm not really sure how it all works.
@FrankFamily I use Paint Shop Pro 9 which probably has a plugin somewhere - I just need to look. Everyone like NVIDIA seem to make plugins for Photoshop though, which is a pain. I also use GIMP, but I only downloaded it yesterday to start editing the textures and so I'm still working out how to use it. It does have a normal map plugin though - it's just that the install instructions are a bit of a mess and so I'm not really sure what to do. I think I'll just try the free trial one for the moment though.
well the best (at least in my opinion) is http://quixel.se/ndo/. It fully integrates itself with photoshop. http://www.crazybump.com/ is standalone and also really good (i prefer ndo2). Both are paid but have free trials so you can have a look. Btw what program do you use?
EDIT: forgot it, about the @, everybody puts them so lets put them hahhaha
Lol thanks (btw nice work with your ultra hd silver sword, great addition to the game).

Unfortunately the nexus site doesn't notify the person, you just have to check the page you commented on. It would be nice if they made an official reply button, and endorsed
@FrankFamily (btw, does using the @ symbol actually do anything like notify the person that you've replied?) I think I'll definitely do denser pattern next time. The thing is, I kept this large as it's all hand painted and I didn't really want to spend ages on my first mod which was really just me messing around. And I haven't touched the metal. I just used the high res texture pack from Bethesda which isn't very good quality. My laptop wouldn't be able to run higher res textures though. Also I don't want to do anything with metal yet as that'd require editing the normal map and I haven't found a plugin for doing that yet for the program that I use. Thanks for the comment and ideas!
Then, the mod, looks quite good, but i think that a second pattern (different and more dense) overlayed with low opacity over the whole thing could be a good idea, or a more dense pattern but only one instead. i mean there's plenty of unpatterned space between the pattern. (i know it sound a bit obvius i don't know how to explain it right...) Not sure how it will look, just throwing ideas, but anyway it looks really good. Keep it up
EDIT: also have you changed resolution and/or touched metal? an overall quality increase would be even better
