Definitely has a lot of issues and I only tested Toggles.
When you make toggles it gives them all the same Object ID and it just doesn't put in whatever caption or variable name you wanted.
That being said, it's still a better way to start then writing the whole thing yourself; at least it builds you a customized template for you to finish yourself.
Nice one, endorsed. If you are running windows 10 and are experiencing missing text in the program, navigate to the language menu ( top right) and choose English or whatever you like and the text comes back.
Looks like my dreams of weaseling out of making a tutorial to remind myself of what I'm doing... has failed. Everyone is most certainly invited to the pity party later at my place, bring your own scripts.
Are there any tutorials to illustrate how to use this program?
Indepth screen shots with explinations?
Youtube video with clear vocal (non annoying/robtic) directions and commentary?
I had an idea many months ago after the release of MCM to create a mod using just MCM to give details on shout locations. As in a Menu Called "Shouts" Expands to a sub side bar menu called "Shout Name" clicking on a specific Shout under that side bar would then open a text box on the right side giving details as to where the shout can be found or what quest must be done in order to get the shout. As well as minor Details about that dungeon "Points of Interest" like leveled loot number of chests Dragon Priests Masks.
I would really love some help figure out how to get this program to work but I am not sure how to go about it. Is there any modders out there that would lend me a hand in getting started? I have TeamSpeak, I can stream or do temporary remote viewing.
If interested please send a private message and we can go from there for contacting one another.
There is an "introduction to MCM Designer" in Files section. It's a real soft introduction, but if you know some basis about MCM menu designing, this should be far enough.
However, what I understand in your project require a rework of the original menu. MCM Designer will not allow do this at all. MCM Designer is intended to design a configuration menu with ease. For all advanced menu modification, you should go on official SkyUI forum (even if I don't know if there is one) and ask some help.
I made this a new comment in case you don't get the notification of my earlier reply, not sure if Nexus supports Replies to Replies properly yet.
A few more things I found, if you have the time. --When generating the script, all of the TextBox's I made are shown within every MCM page. So, I made a Page called "General" and put a TextBox in that page called "GeneralText". Then I made a Page called "Extras" and added a TextBox "ExtrasText". When generating script, both Textbox's "ExtrasText" and "GeneralText" are shown when accessing either page. --When reloading the saved file in MCM designer, Pages do not keep their name shown. All textbox's do, but every page just says "Page" even though the Title box is filled in.
Name should be keeped, but not updated on tree. It's a known bug. Try to change something on a page to force a tree update.
This event is quite hard to write, and I already saw this bug. I don't know if I will fix it now (it's a REAL pain to do :'( ) or if I wait to implement my next idea about generation (which will force me the re-write template one more time).
Well I talked to the SkyUI guy, schlangster (spelling?) And he told me it was a papyrus error. Which it somewhat was. But there IS a problem in your designer. If I use an apostrophe ' after saving the script, it gets replaced with a series of symbols similar to &l,/. Something weird like that. This is the same for using quaotations " the number sign # and these brackets <>. Hopefully you could fix this soon, so that the script will work right out of the box without editing.
A test for you would be putting this into the description for a text box, I like "MCM Designer", because it's very helpful. This is the #1 mod for <MCM> scripting!
