Just tossing out an idea here, but I think that copying the sleeves from the Studded Chainmail mod to the Female Steel Armor and whiting out the textures for the parts that clip would be a good temporary fix. I think it would cover more of the gap until a real solution comes up.
This is still a great mod and I'd like to see it get better.
