thanks for adding my favorite vanilla oblivion sword to skyrim this mod is 98% accurate of the original however i do have one serious problem with this mod in that the sword cannot be tempered with. i needs to be able to upgrade my swords so that i may one cut two cut dragons and watch them burst into flames . author or someone idc who could you fix the sword so it can be upgraded? im afraid until a fix comes out for the upgrading issue ill be using this as a nice wall mount for my skyrim homes.
I don't have much experience with scrip-intensive mods but I'd imagine the script that changes Dawnfang into Duskfang and vice versa removes the current blade from your inventory and then places a brand new copy of the other back in, which would remove any tempering done on the blade. This is the way way the busts for all of the dragon priest masks work and why they remove any tempering.
You are correct, ColinBT1994. I could very easily make the blades temperable, but they would reset every 12 hours with the switch. You'd have to temper them again each time, and I can see it being more annoying than useful.
That being said, what FallenHeroX is suggesting may in fact be possible with SKSE and some fancy scripting footwork. I'm a bit reluctant to make SKSE a requirement, but it's something I'll look into if I get the time.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this come included with Legacy of The Dragonborn?
Edit- It does, however since I couldn't find it anywhere in the Pelagius Wing, I had to spawn it with console :/ Yes, I have completed The Mind of Madness quest.
Legacy of the Dragonborn reportedly uses keizaalfeyn's version of the blade, and keizaalfeyn uses my scripts (he asked permission).
I'm surprised you couldn't find it in the Pelagius Wing though. It's unlikely there's a conflict with another mod editing that cell. Completing Mind of Madness is not technically a requirement, but you have to do it in order to access the part of the Pelagius Wing where the blade is - right at the end, on the ground next to a bedroll. There's a note from Sheogorath with it too.
I've got the mod active,I've done the Sheogorath quest and went to retrieve the sword, but when I got to where it's suppose to be,I found the journal and read it,but the sword was nowhere to be found. Any suggestions?

This was my favorite weapon ever in Oblivion.
