    0.704, 10 July 2013:

    • New feature: You can set your preferred view for when swimming.
    • Tweak: You can now change user settings before the main quest is at stage 5 (e.g. before leaving Helgen).

Used to work, more or less, but since I started a new game, options in the MCM selection menus vanished. Can't change any of the camera selections through menu cause all of them are gone. Anyone know any alternatives?

Despite what the comments below mine says the mod works. For some reason mod author did not put merged MCM option in main file section. You want the first file in the Optional section for the MCM.

As for the mod itself it works as advertised, albeit not very fluidly. The transition between camera modes is a little delayed, and sometimes it doesn't transition at all like from 1st person back to 3rd. Clunky is what I would describe it compared to 3PCO.

However unlike 3PCO, this mod does not conflict with beast animation mods like Moonlight Tales Essentials. This mod will not force werewolf form into 1st person and break the animations like 3PCO does for me.

That said if you don't intend to ever play as a werewolf then I would not and do not recommend this mod over 3PCO.

This mod is extremely outdated. MCM no longer recognizes him and he is incompatible with Customizable Camera. Sad.

Just so everyone knows, you apparently need a separate patch to get this to work for gamepad users. It's in one of the earlier posts. If the author can't be arsed to include the fix into their mod, then I can't be arsed to download it. Let this be a lesson not to post patches for your mods in random posts in the discussion section.

MCM menu didn't appear in my game but the camera goes to 1st person when sword is drawn and goes to 3rd person when it is sheathed.

This Mod is among the TOP 10 of my list. For those who use Gamepad it is necessary to install (SKSE Plugin) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71444.

Any chance of this coming over to SSE?

Dependant on SSE version of SKSE. Last I looked, 2 weeks ago, SKSE team thinks that updating it to SSE will not be an easy task, and may take some time.

I've ported this to SSE and it's working fine. Just going to get permissions for uploading it.

I've installed the mod with the MCM merge and the mod is appearing in the MCM menu. However i'm unable to toggle any options. Any ideas what could be wrong?

    *Edit*

After a clean install the menu is now responding. But no matter what options I choose using the menu the camera won't switch between 1st and 3rd person.

Same here.. it's unfortunate, but I think this mod is broken.

Yeah, something must be wrong with this mod. The camera won't engage no matter what options I set in the MCM menu, and after running the bat command in the console menu (as worded in the help section), all of the options go back to default, and even then the mod still does not appear to work.

Are you using a game pad? There were reports that this mod doesn't work with players who use game pads. I couldn't confirm this because I don't have a game pad. But if this is the actual problem, then it's simply because the mod changes the views by "auto-pressing" (via SKSE) the change view KEY.

Could you update it or include a version that works with game pads then, just change the "switch view key" to the "R3" button instead?

For gamepad users is best to download the SKSE plugin:
      Better Gamepad key support

Can you let me know if that plugin makes the mod work for gamepads? I've asked another user about this before but I can't remember their reply.

The mod's current version detects which "control" (i.e. keyboard, mouse button or gamepad button) to use to switch views by using SKSE's "GetMappedKey" function. It's likely that the "GetMappedKey" function only uses keyboard control.

Indeed, the mod does in fact work for me now, as intended. Thank you kuertee for the mod, and thank you bla08 for posting that link. I never would have gotten this to work otherwise.

The reason I wanted to use this mod so badly is because one day I updated my skeleton and for some reason it caused a glitch that would switch me out to third person every time I took a potion or switched to a melee weapon (which as you can probably imagine, made combat a bit interesting...) with this mod though, it gives me a way around the stupid bug and allows me to play the game in a way that I would prefer to play it anyway, so for me it's a win/win.
