Oh god, where has he been all my life? I almost gave up hope and started thinking about making that Embry guy from Riverwood into a companion. We shall party like it''s 1999 again. Thanks for this great companion Carah. I remember using some of your Oblivion mods and all of them where great. Keep up the good work.
A simple yet fun custom follower! Havent hear nord drunk followers before - did you create the voice using snippets of pre existing drunk recordings? Love the custom AI and look!
To quozzel: Strange that he is doing that I'm thinking with a lot of followers it could be friendly fire he is reacting to, but I could be wrong. I'm not the best at problem solving these kind of thing so bare with me. If you can try and dismiss him, to send his drunken arse home. Then save. Exit your game and uninstall Garrik. Start Skyrim and load you last save, and then make a clean save now that you don't have Garrik. Exit out of the game and reinstall Garrik, again. The next time you Load your clean save with Garrik installed, for good measure do another clean save if you wish. I really do not know if this will fix the issue with Garrik getting hostile; it's puzzling to me but this is what I do if things get wonky in my game and it works 50% of the time. In the mean time I'll look at his AI for friendly hits, maybe there is something I overlooked. Good luck and let me know if this helps.
Update: This is something you can try. In the game open your console, click onto Garrik and type: sifh 1, then hit enter. This disables friendly fire.
I've added version 1.2 in hopes to remedy this friendly fire issue. His invulnerability has been removed, now he can be knocked down, and added playerfollowerfaction for "No Friendly Fire by Phinix to work if all else fails. I provided a link to this mod in my recommendations in the description section.
Strange bug has appeared with Garrik - he's going hostile on me when I try to talk to him, and then can't be injured. First time he draws, leaves my service, sheathes. I try to talk to him again and he draws and attacks - in God mode. Using Vilja and UFO so I've got a bunch of help and they're all beating on him...but he's talking zero damage.
No idea what's triggering this but I have no idea how to get him back.
Other companions - including Vilja and some added by Interesting NPC's - continue to work normally.
This guy is great! I feel kind of bad, because I'll wade into a mess of enemies and then just stand back and watch him bash that tankard about, laughing hysterically, but hey, he holds his own! And you did a great job on his dialog--I'm putzing around on my third playthrough, and now I almost want to start my fourth just to see if he has anything to say about the places/quests I've already been through. I love it!
Great mod at times very funny "remember hit the one in the middle" but I dont kno if this was your part of another mod of yours but I assume it was I encountered a rather large man just past helgannamed test jeremy big the reason I assume this is just for laugh's I killed and looted the corpse and he had the same outfit that Garrick has not a problem though and if I assumed wrong I'm sorry you kno what they say about assuming

Thank-you for letting me know about the Grey face bug. I forgot to add his face tint to version 1.2... D'oh!
I've replaced the main file with a new one. Download version 1.2 again and Garrik should have his face paint.
Have you considered giving Garrik a backstory, maybe add a journal or something similar?
I will consider it for a future update.

Garrik uses the "Drunk Nord" voice which can be selected in the creation kit when making an NPC, nothing was modified.
