Um, what do you mean by "current way of modding"? It's not like the papyrus functions have been changed since release. After all, the vanilla scripts that shipped with the game way back in 2011 still manage to work.
I'm removing all mods prior that date (last official patches from beth.) As I'm not a mod dev but just a modder I can't tell if the script engine papyrus changed since then. Anyway thanks I'll keep your mod. Thanks for your great mods!
Yep, many older mods will still work fine. Scripts added by a mod generally won't cause issues due to the date/age of the mod (unless it's using an outdated script extender like ScriptDragon). Well-written scripts will still work fine, and any scripts that do cause problems are generally the result of the way the script was written and have very little to do with the age of the mod.
Age-related issues are more likely to be plugin conflicts. The biggest concern with older mods would be if they were released prior to the CK - that would definitely qualify as a red flag. Otherwise, my other main concerns with older mods would be whether the mod was released prior to the official DLCs and therefore might conflict with those, or whether it conflicts with some of the more important bug fixes from later versions of the Unofficial Patch. The more vanilla records a mod touches the more likely it would be to potentially conflict with DLC or Unofficial Patch edits. Anyway, I hope that helps a bit.
I love this mod, especially after tweaking my game so the vendors rip me off and there's drastically reduced loot. Takes me forever to scrounge enough gold to buy an actual house plus all the extras for it but I can scrape together 1000 for the smithing chest The auto storage thing for smithing supplies plus the shared toggle are great as well.
Great mod and very useful. I wish there was some way to access the stuff in the carpenter chests from the workbenches inside (as sawn logs are accessed) to avoid lugging stuff from the chest outside to the workbenches inside. Sound lazy? Maybe so, but hoping to remove some of the tedium Bethesda is fond of injecting into all of its games.
Found bug. If you put items in carpenter's chest (I've tested with Lakeview Manor) with shared inventory enabled some of items (I've noticed only quarry stone and clay) will have stolen tag. Nothing serious but annoying
Do these two mods I mean the Blacksmith storage chest and this one work together? I mean can I access my blacksmith things from the Crafting supply chest? This mod sounds awesome I just started to use your blacksmith chest and it awesome. I am going to test this now. P.S. Any chance you can make alchemy satchel that supports all dlcs? Thx D13
Sounds like you may already have the answer to this, but I'll respond anyway. The Blacksmith chests and the Carpenter chests can be used together and work well together, but they have different functions...they sort & store different items. The Carpenter chest is set up to auto-sort the house building items that are added by Hearthfire. The Blacksmith chests will auto-sort items needed to smith armor & weapons. So you won't be able to access the items stored in a Blacksmith chest through a Carpenter chest or vise versa.
I don't have any plans to make an alchemy version in the near future, but it's possible that I may eventually do so.
This has been so helpful to me. Thank you for creating the mod. I just now re-read the description - I did not know about Cloud Storage! AWESOME ADD!! My new Khajiit Archer will make use of that feature for sure. ENDORSED of course!
