Back in Oblivion you could make Shadowmere look like this through esp changes. I loved that look and now I can have it in Skyrim as well Might have to lighten the hair for personal use though. Love it!

Edit: ported to SE for personal use and brightened the hair. I brightened it too much. So gonna tweak it. Love my new Shadowmere

    Author is banned, ah well.

I think I got too lazy to do the DB quest just for a horse so changed Shadowmere's skin in the CK to be on Frost instead =P

Only took a really brief look in the files, but it seems like the added horseshoes on Shadowmere are modeled rather than texture based(?) Is there some simple way to add them to horses in general? They make a huge difference to the look when riding around, and I'm using Frost rather than Shadowmere on a new character, and got used to this skin, now the other horses look pretty bad by comparison.

Edit: To answer my own question, Realistic Primitive Horse Breeds does this. KritaKitty = RainKitty? Well, all the horses look great now, thanks!

i like the silverish touch to mane, feet, tail. its more unique than other horse textures i seen and it does make it look more natural/realistic

I'm just gonna test it. Worst case scenario I comb through the files and remove what this adds. Not exactly easy, but color me impatient.

1st Get SSE Nif Optimizer http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4089/?

2nd Unzip this (shadowmere) mod into a file.

3rd Run Nif Optimizer and point (browse) to the upacked file and select the meshes folder.

4th Click the optimize with default settings.

5th zip the file again and install via mod manager. Or install manually into the games data folder.

Step 1: Make dark witch type character
Step 2: Start trying to acquire dark things
Step 3: Get dark brown horse -_-. Oh Bethesda...
Step 4: Mod dark brown horse into... Shadowmere! King of darkness or some such.
    Step 5: Endorse.

Will this work with Horse Armors? I think they would be compatible, anyone tried it?
