The mod doesn't break lore. Alduin is the first son of Akatosh, and all the dragons are Akatosh's creations. Alduin is simply the greatest of them. See here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Alduin The imperials claimed that he was akatosh, and they're notoriously ignorant of Nord culture.
As for the mod itself, it was interesting. The dragon is a godzilla sized version of an elder or ancient, bronze colored dragon. There are some play issues since the dragon seems to have just been scaled up. He flies so fast it's almost impossible to hit him with dragonrend, and when he lands it's so far away dragonrend has almost worn off when you get there. Actually killing him was too easy with a twohanded greatsword. He uses no breath attack and you can only be hit if you position yourself in front of his mouth. Running under his belly makes it impossible to hit him. It didn't feel like an epic battle, but I would love to see more large dragon mods. The skyrim dragons always felt too small.
Note that I have been using SkyRe so my character is probably overpowered. The fight might've been harder otherwise.
