You don't want to overwrite (needs compatibility patch), but you will loose her AI behavior changes. So basically all you will get is her spell removal/additions.
I have tested this mod two years before and now I have come again to it. And now I remember why I have always dropped Serana as Follower for stealth characters. As someone mentioned below Serana has a bad stealth behaviour ""stuck on sneak position" bug !!! Until someone find a solution to this bug (not this mod, not Better Stealth AI for followers mod solved it), she will remain in the drop list for stealth characters.
The best vanilla follower for Stealth characters is undoubtedly Karliah, I give her a rating of 10/10 as sneaky follower. (get "lonely Karliah" for that)
I dont know why but Serana still just uses Ice Spike and Raise Zombie in Battle. I installed the Mod before I started Dawnguard and I got the message that she changed spells after get her out of the Tomb too but I just see Bats flying around her in Battle. I use Aft and tried it with and without the Patch. Any Tipps?
My Serana keeps casting a thunder spell with her right hand but nothing happens, she just keeps doing the casting animation and you can hear the chain lightning shock spell sound but then there is no chain lightning magic effect that gets shot out of her hand and no enemy recieves damage.
I am using EFF btw, would that cause an issue like this?
Greetings. Your Sneaky Serana mod looks fantastic. I have a question about the DLC1SeranaLevelingScript.pex script in the "no raise dead" version. Many people use the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Patch (USLEEP) and it also makes some changes to Serana and some of her scripts. USLEEP removes Serana's DLC1SeranaDrain02 "Drain Life" [SPEL:02011F32] under Actor Effects in TES5EDIT. Will this conflict with your script change?
Also, USLEEP changes the DLC1SeranaLevelingScript.pex to fix: "DLC1SeranaLevelingScript did not have an OnDeath event to unregister actors making use of the leveling script". Does your script have this update as well? If not, do you see any problem not having this USLEEP change?
I am trying to avoid any issues down the road loading this after USLEEP.:)
Sorry for the late reply. I don't use TES5EDIT, so I don't know how useful this info will be to you.
I use Sneaky Serana, USLEEP and AFT, and she uses a Drain Life spell, which is adequately powerful, a Lightning Bolt spell, an Ice Bolt spell and a bat leeching thing spell (swarms the target in bat-like things that quickly kills it and leaves the corpse in a bloody mess).
AFT makes the follower scale to the player's level, but Serana is still capped at lvl 50.
It's a shame that this doesn't fix the "stuck on sneak position" bug.
Long story short: it works just fine for me, with USLEEP and AFT (with the compatibility patch).
I'm not sure, i'll have to look at the USLEEP script to see when her higher level 'Raise Dead' type spells get added. If you have already leveled Serana to the max, it wouldn't be an issue but if shes actively using the level script in may try and add them again.
I don't see that I was using any DLC1SeranaDrainLife02 spell either.
I just started up a new game after being away for quite awhile and everything seems to be working fine with USLEEP, AFT, and this mod. Prob best if I just add their 'On Death' fix though.
Hey there, sort of a tangentially-related question: I too am using AFT and USLEEP but Serana stopped levelling at 50 anyway (my character is now level 52). I was thinking I would just change her cap using the console command, but before I do so, I wanted to know if this would affect the script applied by Sneaky Serana?
i.e. so far this mod has worked perfectly, but is there a chance she could add the Raise dead spells back later on if levelling to higher levels?
You made me actually have to look at the script for this one. It appears she stops leveling after 48 and the script terminates so I don't think there's any chance she would add the spells back again. You can also manually remove them by using the FORMID's I added to the description page too.

You mean the regular Dawnguard script that would normally add those spells stops working, correct?
After re-reading the AFT page, I suspect the reason she's not levelling further is because I haven't enabled manual levelling management on her via AFT (it's not 100% clear but it appears this is how AFT circumvents level caps). I don't usually enable that because I prefer my followers to choose their own spells and skills and such (muh immersions! ), so I need to try it out and see if that's what happens. If so, it may possibly mean that she'll never add those spells simply because I wouldn't pick them for her. We shall see!
The mod doesn't seem to do anything for me. She still charges ahead at any enemy with 50m that's even remotely alerted. Is there any value I can change in the mod with TES5EDIT that will make her completely non-aggressive until I get detected completely? I installed this mod after I finished the Dawnguard storyline, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. There's nothing overwriting the mod, and it's the lowest in my load order of mods that affects her.
are you using AFT? If so, you need the patch. Could be you have another follower mod that is overwriting her AI. I designed this mod more toward AFT as that is what I use.
EFF has it's own way of managing her which is overwriting my mod. I had to make a pacth to get AFT to work. Prob could do the same for EFF, but i'd have to look at how it works.
So far only AFT and UFO are compatible with her AI. Spell removal should work.
