@renegade, that's funny that you should say that about the tri-shape lol. I had actually used 3ds max and separated the glass from the the rest myself. I wanted the shield also, but alas it is volumetric and you could see inside it through the glass.
Lucky for us, the lore-friendly glass parts are separated from the moonstone metal NiTriShape of the handle. You didn't have to beat the crap outta texture, you don't even need it or the alpha itself, if you think Src Alpha / One is too bright then change it to source-friendly One / Dst Color. True Src Alpha / Inv Src Alpha blending is used to make only certain parts of the whole NiTriShape transparent, in the case we weren't so lucky, and it requires making the appropriate alpha channel as in the Azura's Star of the Transparent Soulgems mod or the shield of Diranars Glass Weapon Transparent Mod.
If the modder copied the Normal Map of the Ghostblade, then wouldn't the WHOLE BLADE be transparent?
More like actually layered it, then selecting the glass parts, put an alpha channel on it, and finally putting an Alpha Property in the Mesh itself, so most likely, you can control the level of alpha via the property in the mesh.
But, I digress, it's nice to see transparent blades made of glass material, at least it's a step forward.

Doesn't make me find these any less interesting though...Have to keep them in mind if I do anything "ghosty"
