I know that everyone seems to have a preference for how they want their armor to look, and what stats it should have... All I can say is if you try to do it for everything the way that I did it here, there are a heck of a lot of items and recipes to do minor copy / pastes to!
my actual game i dont have enough perks alocated to test it yet, but i had 2 points free to use that allow me to get steel and dwarven perks, so i made a steel sword(dwarven) that looks just like a steel sword but with the dwarven sword damage value
perfect
will endorse when able to do it says i need to w8 2h lol
edit: forgot to see how the enhance would work with the new steel sword(dwarven), if it requires a steel ingot or a dwarven ingot, tried it and asked me for a dwarven ingot, perfect
this is something that the game should have from the begining, a blacksmith that knows how to craft a steel axe and can work ebony metal, should be able to craft a steel axe design in ebony metal with the ebony quality(stats), and the same to the oposite ofc, should also be able to craft a ebony axe desing in steel metal with steel quality(stats), this makes sense to me
while steel nord armor is not what i wanted to use this for, ill get it and give it a look
Thanks for the support! Might be able to push out an update sometime this week, we'll see how my time goes. Stay tuned!
Also, I just wanted to point out that I didn't arbitrarily assign stats to the weapons/armor based on my opinion. All the stats are exact duplicates of the equivalent item. Ex: Steel Sword (Glass) has the exact same stats as a Glass Sword (the exceptions being that I added some crit damage to Glass equivalent weapons that normally have a default crit damage of 0). The reason why the stats aren't the same as "base" stats in the screenshots I took is because the character I used to take those shots has >0 weapon/armor skill and perks. The main purpose of those shots is to show the stat scaling.
ARG! You beat me to it..Congrates man! I've been planning this mod for months...trying to decide the best way to do it. I too, like the Newbie gear better than the advanced ones. I thought about making a perk that sets all armors to the same Armor rating, but was hindered for mod compatibility. Also, thought about doing it your way, but that would mean creating my own opinion of what the Armor Rating should be instead of what is Lore-Friendly.
Oh! Well! Kudos Man. When you've finished this mod I'll DL and Endorse.
Keep in mind, this is still a rough beta at the moment. If any recipes or stats seem off (remember these are matched to Vanilla), I'd really appreciate a bug report comment. Thanks!
@kamusdf
Yeah, I see what you're saying. I'll snap a few shots of some item stats / recipes when I get a chance.
Edit: More screenshots added. Feast your eyes or whatever...
Great looking mod, will download, and most likely endorse
I really don't mind the lack of screenshots, but for people like the dude from the first comment, you could post images showing Steel/ Iron Armor with stats of Daedric/ Dragonplate, Leather Armor with stats of Glass, and so on
