Okay, so reading over some of the issues mentioned here, I opened up the plugin in TES5Edit to see how it worked. and i found a PRETTY severe problem
This mod works by adding a spell effect to every playable race that boosts unarmed effect based on the PLAYER level. not the level of the NPC in question. so every single humanoid NPC in the game gets an unarmed bonus as THE PLAYER levels up.
so you can get things like low level bandits and mages punching you to death very easily, this mod does not check what level the NPC is, it uses your own level for everyone
a simple solution to this is in xEDIT, remove the spell from all races and instead add it to the spell effects on the player NPC(the one you control while playing the game) only you will gain the unarmed bonus but it prevents every NPC in the game from turning into an unarmed master as you level
Finally a simple unarmed mod that isnt overly complicated in its perks and skills etc and have too much unnecessary content like the Way of the Monk. All i wanted was unarmed to be more useful and stronger.
Something I'm looking for... any chance you could make it so my character punches faster? The time it takes between clicking the button and actually punching is starting to drive me crazy.
Love how simple and well this mod works, endorsed. I can confirm that it is retroactive for existing characters. It's a must have for master difficulty as well.
Could you make a version that increases unarmed damage when stamina is raised and not on level up? This would make stamina a stronger choice overall and it keeps enemies who aren't at all "fighters" from being good with their hands. Other than that, awesome concept! Best and simplest unarmed mod to date.
