Yeah, it would be cool if nexus guys add some voting system like "thumb up or down" only as opinion, and some endorsement/support alike after you tried a mod instead. Still, just downloading and then voting works the same, yup.
My only real issue is it has no snow at all despite being in a very snowy part of Skyrim (Dawnstar is heavily snowed in yet Windfall Island has no snow? Ehhhh...). Given how lush it is it'd make more sense off the coast of Solitude (where there's relatively less snow and it's greener), or even in the middle of Lake Honrich or Lake Ilinalta (the only two large enough to house it and with no snow). Beyond that? It's perfect.
i haven't used this mod yet. (My game is broken...can't figure out why) but i will and will say it would go nicely with this mod. The Relics of Hyrule https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/40615
it still fits in lore do to early link adventures where he had to save the town from freezing....
This is such a gorgeous recreation. I've had it for two years and every time I boot Skyrim I have to visit. Thanks so much for this!
Btw pairing this mod with Expanded Towns and Cities is great. It makes Dawnstar way bigger with more ships and it also makes Windfall Island feel like a part of a very big port/trading area.
BTW: the greeting letter on the table opposite from the house ought to be corrected since the key is not sold by the merchant, but hidden in the storage shack.

Or maybe even include a 'run down' version of it in their mod?
