    EDIT: My bad, didn't read the description thoroughly.

    I'm using Path of Shadows which turns Muffle into a concentration spell. Could I undo this mod's Muffle changes by deleting AST2MuffleDamageMagicka.pex and everything in the esp that mentions Muffle?

    is there a version where each spell takes up a set amount of magick like say for example when you turn a spell on instead of costing magic every time it only use a set portion of magicka rendering it unusable for anything else. essentially it damages max mana but give you he buffs for the spell. It would work better for oakflesh and similar spells that only affect you while fire cloak would still cost a set amount per enemy.

      I know this is very late, but Invested Magic (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11397) does exactly this, although with some spells that I would like it not to (spells that raise corpses).

    Could you make an optional version so that both magical and physical attacks drain magicka while using flesh spells?

      Version 2.0 (and above) are fully compatible with any other mod, however any toggled spell will behave like they do in the vanilla version regarding values and trait synergies.

    thank you! just what I was looking for. I just kind of always forget to recast this kind of spell, and find it rather annoying to boot, so I never use them, but this is the perfect solution.

    Any way to make this work with a "constant effect" ward that's more consistant with abilities in other RPGs? Like, instead of the concentration wards that the game has already, wards are instead an upkeep-style spell, where they have a drain on mana when they are hit, and break if they aren't given a chance to rebuild? It could even have different defenses with level scaling; at Novice, a ward only protects yourself from spells for, say, 30 points of damage (and it basically soaks any damage as 1/2 magicka damage instead of full health damage, so a 20 damage spell cuts 10 magicka) and the ward breaks if it exceeds 30 points of damage; higher level wards protect against a higher damage threshold, and have branching effects. An Aprentice ward, for instance, also protects followers from spell damage, at a full damage/magicka ratio as opposed to half, while the caster is protected from spells and arrows; Adept protects followers from arrows and spells, while your own wards now prevent half damage from weapons; Expert gives that aid to your followers while you take the maximum 80% less weapon damage; and an introduction of a Master ward that protects everyone from all forms of damage (still 80% from weapons.) It could even be done so that it stacks with allied wards; if you are facing multiple mages, their wards work together to block your magic/arrows/weapons, and the same happens to you and your party/any allies helping you. That way, the more mages in a group of enemies, the harder it will be to reduce their magicka/break their wards, and it makes more sense in a "large army protection" kind of way. Of course, there would be limits; wards shouldn't absorb Shouts, as they are considered a different kind of magic, and Alteration should have a dispelling aspect and Illusion a silencing aspect, as has been seen in previous games. Basically, the idea is that if a group of bandits who are normally very easy to take out with magic have a mage, that mage grants some magic protection to them. Taking out the mage will leave the bandits susceptible to magic. In the same respect, you can be confident that your own wards will protect you from magic, arrows, ETC., but they will still drain your magicka, especially if you have a follower (or more, and remember that while more under your protection doesn't increase magicka cost on hit, there will be more hits involved), so avoiding damage altogether is usually the best course of action; it forces mages into a more "dueling" strategy with other mages, as dealing damage to warriors/archers with magic is near impossible until the mage is gone. This system offers strategic thinking, wards that actually WORK, adds increment difficulty in taking out higher-level spell casters (because it got really easy after a while) and challenges spellcasting players to think, and aproach problems differently. Can this be done?

    Unfortunately this mod has issues. <del>My setup is really lightweight so I don't think the problem is on my end.</del>

    I. The game crashes by doing the following:

    (a) In either order: Make sure your character knows one of the modified spells, like Candlelight. Then from the menu, enable the spell.
    (b) Open the spell/powers menu.

    II. Auto-heal is disabled by default, but the mod notifies you repeatedly that you just turned it off.

      Oof, that's not what I would call lightweight ^^

      A quick look at the magic section shows that you have two different verions of Wintermyst installed, maybe there's your problem.

      If that doesn't fix the problem could you please post the results of the crash log:

      Open the Skyrim.ini (My Documents/My Games/Skyrim) and add this at the bottom

      Oh, wow that log is supposed to be empty, it's a small miracle your game would even start to begin with...
      I couldn't find any error message related to this mod, but there are multiple error with several missing scripts, missing plugins and missing master files.

      At this point I would definetly recommend a clean re-install.


      Also, make sure you own/install all the required DLCs for the mods you have. At least one of the mods you have needs Dragonborn, but you don't seem to have it installed:

    I just changed Flame Cloak to a lesser power in T5E
    I do not regret this decision

    Using Prepared Healing, no matter what setting I use for stopping the spell it continues until all my magica is gone. The spell starts as it should at whatever health percent I set but keeps running long after my health is 100% until all magica is gone.

    Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

      I think this has to do with an effect that reduces your maximum health (e.g. "Sanguinare Vampiris").

      The script is trying to heal you to your original health but your reduced maximum health is lower than that.

      You can work around this issue by removing any detrimental health modifiers, lowering the starting threshold or disabling the prepared healing.

      I'm sorry that I don't have much time at the moment to fix this, but thank you for the report.

      Oh, that's all right. I do make sure to cure any debilitating effects as soon as they happen, including vampirism. I don't play much of a magical character, being more of a warrior type, so I don't rely much on magic. That's why I liked your mod because at level 48 I have a lot of unused magica. Anyway, the issue I described is not a deal breaker for me and I intend to keep using your mod. I will also track it in case you find time in the future to address it, or in case anyone else has a suggestion. Thanks.

      For what it's worth, in case anyone else has the issue I mentioned, sheathing then unsheathing your weapon after combat stops the magica drain and the healing. So, it's all good.
