For Imperial retexturing, I recommend either this mod, XRC, or Heavy Legion + Light Legion (they have more wear than XRC) as the base, and Virtus Imperii for armours not touched by the first 2 mods I listed. And use the shield from Imperial shield re-texture or Legionary Shield - Replacer. I don't believe the Imperial armours ever received the AmidianBorn treatment.
Edit: I opened the nifs in nikSkope and noticed a problem. The paths to the texture files are absolute rather than relative. eg d:\programfiles (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data\textures\armor\imperial\m\helmetmedium.dds . They should be relative, like this: textures\armor\imperial\m\helmetmedium.dds
Since this is an old mod, I doubt this will ever be fixed. It will probably take an hour of work in nikskope to fix all of the paths. For those who are wondering, this mod requires meshes because it adds environmental mapping to the armour (the _em file).
any chance to get the closed-face helmet rtextured too? or maybe a retexture mod that includes it, it feels weird to wear the hd armor and the vanilla textured helmet :

EDIT: I tried this in SSE and it seemed to work. YAY!

Did you edit the original meshes? I thought it's a texture replacer only.
I just compared this mod with 2 other mods by opening the .dds files side-by-side and I can't believe this doesn't have enough endorsements.
