BOSS reported to me that this mod has dirty edits. But..
It actually looks like my attempt to clean it "broke" the file...meaning those "dirty" edits might have been necessary for it to work? In which case, maybe it shouldn't be cleaned, but rather, left alone. I'll report my findings to BOSS, though I'm not totally sure as I am not super experienced with these tools.
Looks like a good idea overall except it looks like only Stormcloak Dragonborns can gain your Hero of Skyrim ability. I don't see any corresponding ability for those who side with the Imperials. Was this on purpose?
Okay, that's definitely an error. I can't seem to verify it on my version, though. I suspect that problem is the script that adds the spell isn't working proper. I may have to ditch the readable tomes part for now until I find a better workaround.
As for Brawler, I'm not sure there. I've tested it myself and I also don't get the option to craft it. I suspect I'm trying to require a quest that never actually finishes. I will try to find a workaround.
Not showing up in the Powers tab or the active effects tab- books were Master Vampire IV and Way of the Voice IV.Added all 4 versions of Memoir: Brawler with the console, but none of them added anything to the active abilities or power tab.
My only thought is I -did- have the previous version of this mod installed, but had never used it on this character, so maybe that's the problem.
That's weird. The abilities were added when I tested it myself. What versions were you attempting to add to the character? Have you checked your power tab to see if the abilities show up there?
The books themselves should remain in your inventory after being read, that much is by design. I'm also trying to pin down the brawler problem as well. I changed the quest required to brawling someone in Riften, but it appears to not be registering correctly. That one is still requiring a little tweaking.
As a workaround, typing: help memoir: brawler 4 into the console should give you the refid for the brawler memoir. You can add it in via console that way.
As of 0.4, I can create the books, but they don't seem to be adding the effect when read. They are staying in my inventory and can be opened, though. Also I'm apparently locked out of getting brawler book entirely, but this may be because of a class mod that adds an effect of the same name, so my own fault there.
See, I thought about that at first. But there isn't a condition that checks for achievements. Great idea, though.
Version 0.3 has been added. I've added new abilities and additional options. Note that upgrading requires a little console magic to avoid broken abilities. Please see the full writeup.
This version is mostly in preparation for version 0.4 which will include readable memoirs that mention your adventures.

Of course! Credit where credit is due!
Not at this time, but that would certainly be a good idea. I'll probably do it with an optional file, so folks don't need the DLC to use this mod.
