Are there any staff mods that allow the staff to be visible all the time when equipped? It just coming out of nowhere when you ready up is very boring.
are you still developing this mod? if yes, have you ever thought about making the staff enhance and cast the same spell that you use with your hands? ex: if i equip a destruction enhancing staff and cast Sparks, the animation of the spark spell will be activated in the staff, and every spell that you equip in the hand where the staff is will be applied to the staff.
Because this is something I've been dying for since forever. I've never liked the way staves worked in any of the ES games. They should really be more of an essential tool for mages and wizards.
If you've moved on to other things, would you consider making it open-source? I'd love to expand on this, and get some modding experience. Credit for the original experience and foundation would go to you, of course.
I'm hoping I can get in contact with them, ever since I learned Staff of Jyrik had a passive effect I knew staves could be so much more just had no experience to start, was hoping to use his mod as a base. Probably still will and just make the mod anyway for myself and release it if i get permission
Cool Idea but a bit overpowered if your game is anything but vanilla magic. Being an ordinator user staffs are a little more useful to me the only problem is they are complete shit.. got a bug up my ass and wanted to fix it and fixed the jyriks blessing effect on the staff to see how staffs and attaching scripts to items worked. Author doesnt seem to be active anymore so if anyone can get in contact with him/her so I can get permission to use his mod as a base to learn this better I can carry the mod on and add DLC support. I dont use staves of skyrim so I dont foresee adding support for it but who knows, I get bored easy
What this mod nees is 2 things: 1. Options, staffs you want to keep as they are in vanilla, and staffs you want to change, perhaps even 2 versions at the same time. 2. Staffs that actually empowers spells, specific, tree specific, and perhaps even those that span all the spelltrees. By empower, I mean gives damage. This is the effect that is actually lacking in Skyrim, magic does absurdly little damage. If this is to replace the 2nd hand that could contain a weapon or spell, it needs to increase the damage, a lot.
Is this mod compatible with Staves of Skyrim? Because I have both Staves of Skyrim and this mod installed and the vanilla staves nor those from Staves of Skyrim give me any of the bonuses when I use them. Staves of Skyrim is lower on the load order by the way.
The scripts i added will only effect default staves in Skyrim. This mod have not got the ability to cover, Dawnguard, Dragonborn or mod added staves. Sorry
My previous mage characters would put the staff of magnus on a weapon rack to gather dust the moment they got it, thanks to you, my current character is proudly showing his trophy off to the world. Thank you for taking the time to do this, you have made my Skyrim experience so much more enjoyable.
