MAJOR PROBLEM. The books in whiterun when you meet the jarl, (2nd floor near the war table), can get you many level ups. Basically it's giving too much experience per book, aka feels like cheating.
I feel the same way, Its way to much experience per book being read. My skill is flying up fast and its leveling my character faster then i would like. I now find myself at a higher level but low & short on combat skills. Due to my speech skill being way higher then any other skill. This then leaves me to stop reading books or uninstall the mod.
I uninstalled the mod... Great idea to implement, but too much XP if your reading alot of books.
SkillUncapper. You can edit how fast speechcraft is gained (yes, skill alone) and how much impact does it have on your overall character experience (level)
I like the idea of this mod, but I am having a problem.I am trying out Requiem for the first time and that may or may not have anything to do with the problem.
What is happening is that a few books are causing my system to crash to desktop (CTD). The first book I ran into with the problem was "whiterun home decorating guide" (f11b6). The system would CTD when I tried to read the book, and later on even when I just scrolled down over the title in the inventory list. I got away from the crash by using a console command to remove it.Then I got another message which was a letter from a Jarl who wanted to see me once I reached level 10 (don't know the exact name or ID number right now). That also caused me to CTD in the same way.
I'm going to have to deactivate the mod for now. Hope this info helps.
this mod basically edits book by adding a script to them (keeping old text, old looks of the books whatsover). Meaning any mods that make changes to book can either overrite this one, or be overriten by it. Create a patch that will get the best of both worlds and see if that helps you out
I would also love to see this mod for SE! Would it be much work to transform to the new version. I don't know anything about modding, but if you could give me the instructions I could try myself, better result would be of course if someone experienced would do it
Nevermind, without permission this is impossible, as the author hasn't updated it in some time a chance for a port to SSE is super slim, sad when good Ideas get abandoned
Will there be an updated version of this for SE? I loved having this in the original Skyrim, and was weirded out when I wasn't improving when I took the time to read books.
Is there any way to mark books as read and get the experience just with one click/action (pressing a button) on them without the long animation when the book opens? There are so many different books and to open all of them is quite timeconsuming but I want to improve my speechcraft
If you download SkyUi it will show a small eyeball beside the books in your inventory you have read. Also, most books in your inventory will already be read considering you open them when u get them, which is annoying i know. But this makes it easier to find the books, tomes, and letters which need to be read to start a quest. They will be the ones with no eye beside.
The mod moreHud (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51956/?) shows more information when hovering your cursor over items. This includes a little eye symbol for books you've already read. Makes it easier to find books you haven't read already.
