So I recently installed this mod, and I can't get past the puzzle door. If I use the TCL cheat in console commands to get past it, I get shot by Karliah and she engages in conversation with a non-existent Mercer Frey. And then she suddenly stops talking as I'm lying on the ground, and the game gets stuck there. I know Mercer was supposed to open the puzzle door, but if this mod gets another update, could you add a dragon claw to the puzzle door? Plus, no Nightingale baddie with all the treasure is anywhere to be found. Anyway to fix this?
Thank you, Captain. Finally able to get that word wall! Um, didn't find a "key" to get past that puzzle door. Hard to suddenly be able to wander around the dungeon one is usually locked out of, if one doesn't do the Thieves Guild, and not be able to know what is behind that door! Like a carrot being dangled in front of a horse! Oh well. Had to use Jaxonz Positioner to move the door aside so I could find out! .P.
A great idea for one who hates the thieves guild questline but would like access to the word wall. Endersblade mentioned that it would be nice to have access to the word wall in Dustman's Cairn without having to join the companions. There is also a word wall in Saranthal as well as a need to get there to do the Galdur amulet thing, but you do not have access to Saranthal without joining the mages guild.
Personally I would move the word wall itself to a different dungeon that isn't locked, I'm sure there are a few suitable places where at the end it can fit a word wall (or be tweaked a bit to fit the word wall.
It would be better than entering dungeons that are quest locked before getting the quest.
Heh. Ironically, Skyrim is the first game I decided to go sort of middle-of-the-road with a character. I usually ALWAYS play the goody two-shoes lawful character in RPGs :-P I won't be downloading this mod, but I can certainly understand how this would be helpful! Aeonthraen has another good point, you should do a mod like this to skip having to join the companions, too.
nice CaptaionRC but you missed one; Companions questline has a Word of Power for the first fragment to Wuuthrad you need to get and the barrow I believe is locked unless you join the Companions. Some of us, "Non-Warrior" types (priests, mages etc) who don't want to join end up getting it forced down our throat if we want a fully upgraded Fire Breath (I really thought it was kind of stupid of Bethesda to make certain factions mandatory in order to progress in sidequests and main quest; yeah im lookin at you Brynrolf -_-).
