Having similar hair hardly qualifies as being just like Lydia. She has SIMILAR hair yes, but she was built from Aela The Huntress, so if anything she should look like that. She has different color eyes, custom made also, and a different facial structure than Lydia.
Also Lydia doesn't run around with a bow. The follower isn't there for just looks. She's actually useful as an experienced and more powerful ranged follower than the vanilla game offers.
