This is a plecebo. It's one thing to disable the opening for Fallout 4 due to it actually having to be skipped and adding time to your load up, this does nothing, as the same time you'd see the logo is spent just staring at the Skyrim logo. At least witht the 2 and half second clip you have something to look at, this is just essentially a still image for the same amount of time.
to be honest, as a game developer myself, not working for bethesda, i find this mod a little offensive, not in the, grandma finds kids saying crap offensive, but like the, they worked hard on this and you guys are so pissed about a 2.5 second intro that you have to make a mod to remove their logo? i mean, no hate, i get it, when i was 12 i used to remove intros from games too, and then i realised people worked on these, just like how on buildings and theme parks like disney, they put the founders or builders names on the stone (disney in LA has the whole walk up to the gates paved with workers names, and the one in HK has them on windows) this is bethesda's founding stone, just like skipping the credits, i personally dont read their names but i sit back and have a beer or something and let them scroll past if i enjoyed it, kind of a sign of respect. i dont know guys, it's just like wearing glasses so you dont see pepsi's logo on cans, or liking batman and not seeing the dc comics logo at least once. 2.5 seconds, how many times do you load up skyrim each day? 30? thats a minute and a half of your life wasted paying tribute to the people who spent years of work on a game that brought you hours, if not months in playtime, of enjoyment (if you load it that many times) just seems disrespectful

By that logic, every texture replacer, mesh replacer, sound replacer, and anything else that changes/removes aspects of the game is "offensive". They worked on those things as well.
The whole point of modding is to make it YOUR experience, as YOU want it to be. If that means removing the intro because you are tired of watching it for the millionth time, then that is your choice, and I doubt anyone at Bethesda would find it offensive or disrespectful. Quite frankly, it is pretty silly to call that offensive. That is an offense to the word "offensive"...
I found this mod by accident (was looking for something to remove enchantments) and didn't think too much of it. Then my game started to crash due to a corrupt mod and many, many restarts later the logo started to annoy me, as well as the low rumbling noise that accompanies it (it's low-frequency and designed to give you a small adrenaline jolt in anticipation of the gameplay, when you're annoyed and worried that intention backfires). Therefore this mod will sit in my MO modlist and be activated or deactivated as needed.
Tl;dr: When you need to restart the game constantly 'the extra 2,5 seconds' add up, that's where this mod comes in.
it gets anoying aftert seeing it over 100 times in a row over the course of a week when you are testing out small mods to make sure they are working. and its not like we notice their watermark on the main menu becuse we do notice it
I will pre-order any Elder Scrolls or Fallout game from Bethesda the instant it's available. I don't need this intro to remind me of who made this awesome game and it's also very awesome prequels. Everything that spares me loading times is simply highly appreciated.
The thing is, the video can't be clicked away. I hate every game company (most notably EA) that does this and forces you to sit through a 5 second video/logo everytime you open the game but hey every other logo can be clicked away just the company's one is compulsary.
Not just that if your a game developer and you have people, wait for a Logo to Play then Load the game, then Load the EULA...a bit douche, why can't game devs put say the Logo and Start menu at the beginning then as the loading is finishing then load the save file I choose...no you have us wait for so long to get to the start menu
What kind of stupid sentiment is this? The only point of the logo is company promotion, it doesn't even take twenty minutes to build this type of logo in a free animation system, so little money, effort, and time was put into this, the most work you probably got out was the artistry of the logo. (which existed well before the video anyway) And its unlikely you'd have something proprietary making it longer. And that's with all the optimization and efficiency of recording it as a video as Bethesda clearly did. Not to mention they don't allow you to skip it, disable it after the first start, or have it disabled in some other way, this is a massive issue, as well there is no background startup system while the video goes on so you gain nothing by having this repeat. Simply put there is no reason to have this sentiment, its not valued or meaningful to those who made it nor those receiving it. Its only a company quota with very little thought behind the systems involved in it.
I have no idea how I've never downloaded this mod before. Could have sworn I'd had it in my MO mods folder for ages, but apparently not. Have another download and endorsement for contributing to the greater plan of one less annoyance in the world.
I kind of think that this is an unnecessary mod. All you have to do is delete or rename the *BGS_Logo.bik* by going to "Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\Video". No intro no CTD's just loads up to the menu screen. Easy as pie. Don't know why there is a smiley face where the "D" for Data is.
