Gentlemen, can anyone tell me where exactly I need to put compatibility patches in the order of loading mods?
Do they need to be placed behind the main SDO mod and before the patched mod, or do I need to put the patch after the patched mod?

I'm really considering using this as an alternative to dyndolod. I think I'd take the probably stark performance difference over the hassle of re-generating dyndolod everytime i want to add a texture to the game

Spend some more time reading the DynDOLOD manual and try to understand what the patcher does, then you would see how silly your consideration and post is. It makes no sense whatsoever.

The SDO mod is outdated and buggy LOD generated for a specific load order. DynDOLOD generates LOD based on your current load order. You do not need to generate LOD with DynDOLOD again because you changed or add a texture.

And the current version of Dyndolod only takes about 10 minutes max to generate the patcher on a heavy load order. And you get dynamic LOD that fits your load order.

      @yausd

I used dyndolod. I read the manuals. and it worked great for me, the first time I installed it. I never have to go back and reinstall because I fucked something up. YOU DO generate it again if you're making changes to things like flora overhauls (which I do change often) that's what the video guide explained from what I remember

it makes the game look better. that doesn't change the fact that it's a pain the ass to generate LOD in a patcher, as an alternative to just installing.

you thought about it too much; read too deep in my comment, I was giving a compliment to the mod, as a show of respect to the mod author. this was out before dyndolod and it worked then, WHY would it not work now?

maybe you should have some respect too? don't question my sense and validity. you obviously have some kind of personal vendetta against this mod, since every other post in here has you in it, on your high horse, telling everyone the same thing you tried to tell me.

In 10 months I made a total of 4 posts in which I answered users questions or problem reports by telling them about the known problems SDO has and the better alternatives that are available. Based on simple facts. These four posts are all about different topics:

One user reported purple/missing textures with SDO, one of the known bugs of SDO. I informed him that LOD generated with DynDOLOD or using the pre-made showcase are much better options.

Another user wondered about the compatibility between SDO and DynDOLOD. I informed him that DynDOLOD supersedes outdated SDO and pointed him to more information in the DynDLOD description or manual.

A user asked a question about DynDOLOD / terrain LOD question - unrelated to SDO. I gave him a list of terrain mods and informed him about the Oscape generator.

It is important for people have all the facts, so they do not reach wrong conclusions and they understand the recommendations or solutions.

Let me repeat some of those facts:

      SDO is outdated.
      SDO is buggy.
DynDOLOD Nexus page offers pre-made static LOD that works with SkyFalls/Mills.
There is no requirement to generate LOD with DynDOLOD again just because a texture was added.
DynDOLOD can be used to generate static LOD just like the pre-made show case.
DynDOLOD can be used to make a mod like SDO. It has a "create mod" option.
Generating static LOD with DynDOLOD and then never touch it again for 5 years is a better option than using SDO.

From the DynDOLOD manual: "If the load order changes often, consider generating LOD only for the base install of Skyrim Legendary and only the mods which are considered essential. There is no technical requirement to update LOD just because a mod was added. The worst that can happen is that LOD is missing for new objects. This will make it easier to remove non essential mods from the load order without having to generate LOD from scratch."

The manual also explains how to quickly update the texture atlas without having to generate LOD again.

If a user considers to use SDO because the load order changes often has not yet realized the full potential and possibilities of the DynDOLOD patcher.

Simply put, "stale" LOD generated by DynDOLOD is still light years better than "stale" LOD from SDO.

    Just a warning:

I had a problem with my houses in the hearthfire expansion not building, and it seems this mod was the cause. Do not use with hearthfire.

Then you could try Dyndolod and meet more the randomly textures missing experiences. PS: This mod contained an old version of esp files. You could use CK update the file by yourself easily. You could also be using Expand Object LODs instead of this one if you don't want too many esp.

Then you could try the " Dyndolod" and feel randomly textures missing experiences.

This mod contained an old version of esp files. You could use CK and other tools to update and merge the files as one by yourself easily. You could also be using Expand Object LODs instead of this one if you don't want any esp. You could use another one which is called "Terrain LOD Redone" to fix some of Vanilla LODs mesh problems and gain new gaps on the map. Then you had to cover some mesh files for fixing the gaps. I recommend using some of "Hi quality LODs" mesh file s to save the damned gaps caused by the TLR.

I am not quite sure what you mean by "randomly textures missing experiences", but any such issues have nothing to do with DynDOLOD, obviously. I suggest to pay attention to log message made while generating LOD. Toubleshooting LOD issues is trivial.

Nobody should be wasting trying to fix the dirty plugins of this mod. It won't fix all the bugs or the performance issues or the fact that pre-made LODs do not match the load order.

Expand Object LODs is just as superseded and outdated as this mod. Its author says to use DynDOLOD as well right on top of the description.

The notion not to "want an esp" is contrary to the desire to improve LODs. One can not have one without the other and not have visual issues.

Terrain LOD Redone updates terrain LOD textures, while DynDOLOD generates improved and matching tree and object LOD. They work well together.

Instead of using pre-made terrain LOD meshes made a long time ago with buggy Oscape, use xLODGen to generate perfect terrain LOD meshes with the "protect cell border" option checked and the TES5-Terrain-Tamriel.esm enabled, which adds the missing terrain information back.

xLODGen/DynDOOD exist since years. Everybody can easily generate well working, matching and improved LODs for their load order. There is really no need to use long superseded mods anymore and deal with their issues and their limitations.

Every decent modding guide covers the use of the tools.

I don't know why this happened frequently when I active the "Dyndolod" esp. The missing textures included armor, weapons, NPC's faces, and objects in the cells(It seems only happens in the cell). They will be restored by reloading the game. It might be I am using a lot of mods contained scripts and over the engine's algorithm. The "uGridsToLoad" value was set as 5, but, the issue happened again when I set the value as 7. I don't use ENB, so, there's no need to rectify the vale to be higher to lit my notebook.
"Dyndolod" is a great mod. However, It might not be perfect for everyone. Keep the mods multiplicity to choose will be an accident-proof.

Textures going missing temporarily is typically caused by running out of texture memory. This could be due to VRAM being exhausted or ENBoost not being setup properly. Reduce texture resolutions where possible. For DynDOLOD that means to install the low-resolution LOD textures, choose smaller tile size in TexGen and DynDOLOD. Make sure to setup Crash Fixes UseOSAllocators=1 with the PreLoader as well.

DynDOLOD is not a mod. DynDOLOD is a collection of tools to create a LOD mod for the entire load order. Anyone who wants matching and improved tree and object LOD should use it. Pre-made LOD mods only work for the load order they were generated for, they are long outdated and in this case performance intensive and buggy.

xLODGen and its advanced and easier version DynDOLOD for improved tree and object LOD are the simple to use tools to create such LOD mods. The mod authors back then wished they had these tools instead of limited and complicated CK - that is why they recommend using them. The tools make the creation of LOD mods so easy and customizable that everybody can do it now. Everybody can have the perfect LOD mod - visually and performance - customized for their load order and setup. The tools make pre-made LOD mods obsolete and pointless. The tools are constantly being updated and maintained since 6 years. Because of these reasons, LOD generation with these tools is part of every modding guide.

So, 'Reduce texture resolutions' will be a possibility? I was set textures as the default values(256 & 512) at the both 'TexGen ' and the DynDOLOD, and I also chose the high mode for Dyndolod in the advanced options window, 'textures setting' or 'high mode' which one should I reduce?

You can always reduce the generated atlas texture size directly install the smaller object LOD textures in resources, select smaller size in TexGen and set smaller max tile size in DynDOLOD.This works with any of the presets. If the high presets seems too resource intensive for your setup and load order, test the medium preset.

The included manual has a "Performance" chapter that suggests a lot of things.

There are lots of warning posts from plenty of users. Not sure why anyone would use this buggy, performance intensive and long superseded mod in 2020.

The infinitely better and stable alternative DynDOLOD has been around since 2014 and also receives updates.
