I really like this, makes silver weapons more useful which is a good thing imo, a lot of the enemy types you list make me wonder why it wasn't that way in the first place but Dwarven Automatons? Yes they are powered by soul gems but they are machines made out of metal how would silver particularly hurt them? No big deal though I just won't use my silver weapon against them.
for me it would make sense if the soulgem is exposed and you could stab it but its not. its covered up so i dont think silver should damage them further
My justification was two-fold: 1) They are magical creatures, and I applied silver's effects to all other magical creatures. 2) Silver kind of needed to have a wide enough list of enemies for it to be worthwhile. I stuck in everything that made even remote sense.
Can you please make the silver weapons disenchant-able so I can put this new silver perk on other weapons too(I say to myself that I coated them with silver to not consider it cheat ) . The mod "EzEs -Artifact Disenchanting" make this disenchant possible for the vanilla silver perk ... with yours is not working anymore.
Just a question, will Privateye's Weapon Expansion Pack also be affected? I'm only asking because the mod he made adds silver warhammers, maces, spears/shortspears, and daggers to the silver weapon list. I'm only wondering if the weapons in his mod would be affected by the new "enchantment" you've given the standard silver set.
following the witcher inspiration, could you make that silver weapons are weaker againts humanoids? (maybe 50~70% weaker) forcing the player to switch to a normal weapon if he want to be effective against this kind of enemies
Cool - thanks sushisquid! Don't get me wrong, I totally agree with your logic for the dwemer machines. Just a personal taste thing. I like silver for more, I guess "traditionally" magic creatures, like found in the Witcher. I like to smash up metal with something more solid than a sword, silver or otherwise Thanks again for this sweet mod!
Dwemer machines are powered by magic, making them technically magical creatures, which is why I included them. However, the list is fairly easy to edit if you don't want them included. It cannot be done through an external list or anything though. You have to edit the conditionals directly.
To make changes, open this up in the Creation Kit and find SilverPerk. Within that you'll see it has two effects, both entry points. One modifies base weapon damage and the other modifies critical damage. Open each one and check their Target conditionals. Remove the HasKeyword ActorTypeDwarven == 1 OR conditionals from both entry points. This will stop the bonus damage and critical damage from affecting dwarven automatons (unless they for some reason met other conditions, but none in the base game do).
