I thought I had a sufficiently flat hairstyle already, but the hood I want is still a bit too fitted, and the hair clips through...

Can anybody tell me how to make the hood model bigger in comparison to the body?

changing the scale in CK didn't seem to do anything...

It's the model itself you have to modify. I can't help you with it, but I know it's not done through the CK.

Outfit Studio is very useful for this. You can hand sculpt it to make a better allowance for your hair.

hey,I just did what you said and it didnt work.
I did some work, and I think I got the reason.

If I change to "misc", or other selection, I will create a duplicate in my esp file. And in the game it didnt work, because the hair I used at that moment is the original hair, not the duplicated one.
And , my "RaceMenu" ONLY shows the hair which is the "hair" type, not the "misc" type .
(I changed back to "hair", cancelled the orignal hair esp and used my esp and restarted the game and bingo, I found my new hair showed up in the menu)

So, I reselect "scar" to my new hair, and select scar in the game and bingo, the problem solved, just like the post years ago said.
So, I figured it out that "misc" isn't the only solution and to make it right we should use our new hair , not the orignal one (because of the fact of duplication)

My hair mod is KS Hairdos - HDT Physics

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the effect doesn't carry over in game.

I know I created the proper file and fallowed the directions, and I'm almost positive I have the right hair selected.

Do I have to 'spawn' an item in game?
Does this not work with armored helmets?

    Thanks!

The proper way to deal with this issue is to open up the NIF in Blender and set the dismemberment partitions to SBP_141_LONGHAIR for the parts of the hair that you want to stay when you equip the helmet, and SBP_131_HAIR for parts of the hair that you want to disappear to stop it clipping through the helmet.

If you wanted to get the same effect as this tutorial then you could just open the NIF in NifSkope and change the dismemberment partition from SBP_131_HAIR to SBP_141_LONGHAIR. I don't like clipping under any circumstances so I don't recommend this.

A third method, which is a bit easier than the first, is to find a hairstyle that doesn't clip on any helmets or hats and can be hidden underneath the hairstyle you want. Change the dismemberment partition to SBP_141_LONGHAIR in NifSkope and then add it as an extra part to the main hair in the CK. When you equip a helmet the main hair will disappear but the other one will still be visible.

The hair mod containing the hair you want to use has to be selected when opening the creation kit, if I remember correctly.

What clothes or armor are you using on that character?

It's from a Witcher mod, forgot the character's name but I think it's stated further down the comments. (That's why you read the comments, folks.)

I'm using a female hair on my character, but I don't want to show that style under my helmet because it will glitch. Is there a way to show the mesh from another hairstyle with this one when I wear an helmet?

This tutorial is to CAUSE a glitch. It doesn't tie a hat to a specific hairstyle. To do that, you'd have to add the hairstyle to the hat itself through model editing.

Does this not work with any of the hats added with SkyRe? I am trying to get my hair to show with the 'Seadog Feathered Tricorne" , but even after doing your guide step by step, I am having no luck. When I go into showracemenu to see if I had the right hair selected it shows up underneath the hat just fine, but after I close showracemenu the hair completely disappears again!
