I don't know if you're still modding but if you are I'd love an SE/AE version of this. They don't seem to look right when applied in game and these are still the best imo.
This is my favorite Aela period. Any chance of porting this to SSE? I plan to add the rest of your companion mods to my oldrim but would love to see them in SSE as well. Great work.
Is anyone else having an issue where the only change made is that her warpaint disappears. I've tried the Ctrl + f4 thing and it still doesn't work - it gets rid of the grey face but her hair, mesh and face is still no different from vanilla...
For some reason I can't get her head MESH to work. I don't think I have any conflicts since I had no .nif that replaced Aela's. I also tried placing her at the bottom of the load order with no result.
What happens is that, for one thing, she gets the dark face glitch. Second, her head mesh is the vanilla face, but without makeups. This also happened with this Erik the Slayer replacer: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36195/?
Weirdly enough, your mod of Mjoll and Frea work fine...
Anyone knows the issue? If someone wants to help, I'd really appreciate it and show my mod .esp list
I really appreciated your other works, like, mostly, Serana and "The Elves", with also the three female housecarls.
But this time, with my "dear sister" Aela I'm a bit disappointed. One of her most important detail, perfectly looking as her character and personality, are her eyes. "Husky Predator"'s eyes. They seems to glow like the ones of a wolf (yes, she's a werewolf) in the darker nights, giving her "special" appearance of the strongest nighthunter. I don't like your choice to give her so simple brown eyes, frankly.
You're going to have change her .esp weight in the CK to give her a bigger weight. Make my .esp an active file, search Aela in the Actors Tab of the Object Window, double click her name to get her actor window. The weight value should be there, you can set it up to 100. After that hit OK, export via ctrl+f4 and save the .esp. Make also sure that you uninstall any warpaint texture replacer beforehand because the CK hates them and it won't show.
Now in-game open the console with tilde key and click on her. Type in setnpcweight XX, whatever new value you put in.
I've tried to create a "compatibility patch" for ESFAela and this mod...but it seems I failed miserably. As DreamKingMods suggested, I copied every facedata entry from your mod to the ESFAela.esp (with TES5edit), and put in your data to "\skyrim\Data\meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom" and "\skyrim\Data\textures\actors\character\facegendata\facetint" into a "ESFAela.esp" folder.
Sadly she still has this...darkened face as if I hadn't changed anything. If you have the time and passion, I'd would like to kindly ask you, if you consider doing a patch for this problem. I'm far from being an advanced user when it's about modding (I can install mods alright, but tinkering with them is over my head).
I have exactly the same problem. Any altering in CK leads to no warpaint and darkened face. Edit: I've figured this out. You need press ctrl+f4 selecting your NPC in Actors+Actor section of CK (not in *All). Detailed instructions on this matter: Dark Face Bug

Anyhow, thank you for all your work.
[edit: snip (nvm)]
How can i fix that? Thanks!
