hmm so what you did was to pick a Music Type other than _None... I was thinking about this as a work around for what I am having problems to achieve, being it having the same music than outside, so no transition when we enter the college, very much alike when we are at Whiterun and enter the War Maiden - same music, no transition - but it seems that this can't be done with the music we hear when outside of the city, as it's not found as a Music Type?
different cells have different music types. so exploration tracks are selected for outside, tavern tracks for taverns. If you are having exploration music play regardless of the environment, for instance, its the same music when entering a dungeon, then there is some mod that is changing that field somewhere. a load order tweak may fix that
@Treach66: i didn't toggle Hall of Elements due to certain events that take place in there during the Mages' Guild questline. dont want to give away any spoilers...

I might give it a try, but I'm not sure wether I prefer having music or not. It's good that you kept the hall of the elements music-free in any ase.
Installing particular mods isn't necessarily a trivial thing for everyone's setups.
