@avatarpedro - This mod just adds a gold helmet to the armour then? By the look of the pics this helmet, as cool as it looks, seems a bit of a miss match with the rest of the gear.
he is right Spartans lived in Sparta but were associated with the Greeks because well that is lost to history my friend maybe they helped Greece they were a city state
Actually, it is Greek. In ancient Greece, the great rival of Athens was Sparta. The city-state and its surrounding territory were located on the Peloponnesus, a peninsula southwest of Athens. Sparta (also called Lacedaemon) was the capital of the district of Laconia. http://history-world.org/sparta.htm
Sparta functioned as a city state. Each city state has their own unique culture. All Greeks back then participated in ancient Olympic Games in Olympia which all Greek city states including Sparta participated. You got it wrong.
Sparta was one of the most important Greek city-states throughout the Archaic and Classical periods and was famous for its military prowess. The professional and well-trained Spartan hoplites with their distinctive red cloaks, long hair, and lambda-emblazoned shields were probably the best and most feared fighters in Greece, fighting with distinction at such key battles as Thermopylae and Plataea in the early 5th century BCE. The city was also in constant rivalry with the other major Greek cities of Athens and Corinth and became involved in two protracted and hugely damaging conflicts, the Peloponnesian Wars of the mid- to late 5th century BCE and the Corinthian Wars of in the early 4th century BCE.
I think it'd be much cooler to see someone take authentic real world Spartan armour and put it into Skyrim, like how the "Historical Revival: The Roman Era" changes everything to real world Rome (except the legion banners). But in regards to Spartan armour, I'd love to see something like this instead of just retextures of the Roman inspired Imperial legion armour http://net.archbold.k12.oh.us/ahs/web_class/Fall_09/Sparta_Wesche/IMAGES/armor3.jpg
First off, great retex mod and I agree, make a stand-alone version of it with more options. Kudos to you!
However - you won't like what I'm going to say next but don't dislike because it's not only directed to you but to all other modders too - this isn't a "Spartan armor", Spartans didn't use the basic hoplite gear (well there are exceptions noted) they had their own style of horizontal helmet. I do agree that the hoplite's helmet looks really cool (try adding a plume?) and you did a good job.
