For those curious: this mod seems to work with Convenient Horses 5.0. I tested it a bit for few minutes, at first horse wasn't following me, nor react to whistling, but later (idk why) it suddenly started working. Changing saddle/armor also works.
EDIT: tested more: charging, calling with horn, wait/follow commend also works. Can't use coat colors added by mod for follower's horse. Of course modifying speed doesn't work.

I installed the mod and loved it, but none of the stable NPCs have any dialogue, so I can't buy horses from these locations. Any chance this will be fixed sometime soon?
I use Mystikhybrid's horse armor mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1334 and it works with this mod just fine. (In my game all these new locations are using the Winterhold horse armor model). The unique horse textures showed up for me no problem. I just can't buy them, LOL!
Yeah, I found that problem too. The stable NPCs only say "Yes?" without prompting any dialogue window to buy the horse. A shame, really, since the stables and the locations are handy.
I loved the mod, but I have only a small request that would make it fully compatible with Convenient Horses: make a version using the vanilla horse race. Otherwise, the horse bugs if you apply any horse armor from Convenient Horses.
I will add it to my list of modders I must chat up about patching for Lesser Holds with their mods! Thanks guys for your interest in my little mod here
Could you make a version of this mod that is compatible with "Expanded Winterhold Destruction Ruins" (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8333)?
I'd love to use both of them cause they both give the game a certain level of realism that I don't wanna miss
